If you take pride in doing quality work, can be trusted to work independently, and want a hands‑on position with real responsibility, we’d love to talk to you.</strong></i></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY:</strong></p>\n<p>The purpose of the Hood Technician position is to assist and be responsible for cleaning the grease off the cooking exhaust systems of commercial kitchens and supervisory functions relating to crews.</p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work after hours once facilities are closed, in and outside</li>\n <li>Often work alone with a helper and must be able to interact professionally with restaurant management and staff and be honest and trustworthy</li>\n <li>Inspections, clean up and some maintenance</li>\n <li>Taking photos of work</li>\n <li>Driving to and from job to shop</li>\n <li>Filling out paperwork</li>\n <li>Keeping truck and machine in working condition</li>\n <li>Cleaning kitchen exhaust systems including fans</li>\n <li>Roof, filters, working safely with ladders and chemicals</li>\n <li>Getting to per-scheduled appointments on time</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<p>The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully, however in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications.</p>\n<p><strong>Education, Training, Certifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>HS Diploma or equivalent, required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Leadership skills, ability to motivate, provide direction, required.</li>\n <li>Light mechanical ability, preferred.</li>\n <li>Work with hand/power tools</li>\n <li>Demonstrate critical/ safety forward thinking skills.</li>\n <li>Collaborator and ability to work with all levels of employees.</li>\n <li>Strong diligence and accuracy</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Communication Skills:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Other Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.</li>\n <li>Must be able to comply with SFS’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL &amp; WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>\n<p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform Essential Job Duties.</p>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p>\n<p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, ascend and descend step stools, ladders and stairs, kneel, lift &lt;60lbs, reach above and below shoulders, stand and walk for extended periods of time. &nbsp;Employee is required to see in color, close and far distances, peripheral, depth, and adjust focus. Employee will occasional be required to balance, crouch, drive, kneel, lift &gt;60lbs, sit, stoop, twist, and work at heights.</p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p>\n<p>Employees will regularly be required to work outside, and be exposed to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards and noise. Employee will occasionally be required to work indoors in an office setting, work alone and with others.
