    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>CONSTRUCTION&nbsp;SERVICES&nbsp;PRACTICE</strong></p>\n<p>Michael Baker International’s Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers,&nbsp;estimators and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.</p>\n<p><strong>What We're Looking For:</strong></p>\n<p>Michael Baker International is seeking a Construction Inspector I to join our construction services team! This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to support Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) and lead inspection efforts on high-impact roadway infrastructure projects. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring construction quality, safety, and compliance with contract specifications, while working alongside a team of dedicated professionals committed to excellence in transportation development.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>**Night-shift and project location is SHA District 3 in MD&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversee daily inspections and testing of roadway construction materials, including earthwork, subgrade, base, and asphalt.</li>\n <li>Manage inspections of concrete installations such as barrier walls, bridge decks, MSE walls, and drilled shafts.</li>\n <li>Maintain detailed daily logs of construction activities, inspection results, and contractor performance.</li>\n <li>Ensure all work meets specifications and OSHA safety regulations.</li>\n <li>Interpret construction plans and specifications, and provide guidance to contractors and project stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Safety Enforcement: Promote and enforce safe work practices on-site.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What You Need to Succeed:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma OR GED</li>\n <li>5+ years experience in highway construction</li>\n <li>Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check.</li>\n <li>Certification and experience in construction materials testing</li>\n <li>Applicable construction certifications or ability to obtain (asphalt, concrete, soils, MOT, E&amp;S, etc.)</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>COMPENSATION</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">The approximate compensation range for this position is&nbsp;$30/hr - $40/hr.
