Description Position Vacancy – Math and AI Coach/Facilitator (Full-Time) Bank Street Education Center Bank Street College of Education 610 West 112 th Street, New York NY 10025 To: The College Community From: Office of Human Resources Date: March 2026 Subject: Position Vacancy – Math and AI Coach-Facilitator to support Ed Center AI Learning Lab & Math Portfolio (the Ed Center) Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) Reports to: Senior Director, AI Strategy & Partnerships Position Summary: Bank Street Education Center seeks a Math + AI Coach / Facilitator to support the design and implementation of high-quality professional learning experiences across the mathematics portfolio, including projects focused on mathematics teaching and learning, instructional improvement, and responsible AI integration. This role will work directly with educators, school teams, and project partners to design and facilitate professional learning; provide coaching to teachers and instructional leaders; develop practice-based tools and resources; and support implementation across a range of math-focused initiatives. A significant portion of the role will support projects at the intersection of math instruction, instructional innovation, and AI-enabled teaching and learning, while also contributing to broader math coaching and facilitation efforts across the Bank Street Education Center’s math portfolio. In this role, the successful candidate will serve as a trusted instructional partner to educators and school teams, helping them move from strong mathematics practice to increasingly confident, reflective, and context-specific implementation of new approaches, including AI-supported strategies where relevant. In addition to project-based and partner-facing work, this role will also contribute to internal, college-wide learning and capacity-building efforts across Bank Street’s divisions. Key Relationships: The Math + AI Coach / Facilitator, AI Learning Lab will report directly to the Senior Director of AI Strategy and Partnerships and will work closely with the Director, AI Integration & Innovation, the Executive Director of K-12 Mathematics, and Bank Street Education Center senior leadership to support the design and implementation of AI Learning Lab priorities. This role will also collaborate with colleagues across the College, as well as with external partners and project stakeholders across the AI Learning Lab portfolio and broader math portfolio. Responsibilities: In collaboration with the Senior Director, AI Strategy & Partnerships, the AI Learning Lab team, and the K-12 Math team, the Math + AI Coach / Facilitator will be responsible for the following key functions: Professional Learning Design & Facilitation Design and facilitate high-quality professional learning experiences for teachers, coaches, and school leaders focused on the intersection of math instruction and AI-enabled teaching practice Lead workshops, institutes, model sessions, and virtual learning experiences that are engaging, practice-based, and responsive to participant needs Translate emerging ideas about AI into accessible, pedagogically grounded learning experiences for K–12 educators Support participants in building confidence with AI tools while maintaining focus on instructional purpose, student thinking, and equitable math learning Coaching & Classroom-Connected Support Provide 1:1 and small-group coaching to educators and instructional leaders as they test and implement AI-supported approaches to mathematics teaching and learning Support teachers in applying AI to lesson planning, formative assessment, differentiation, task adaptation, student work analysis, and family communication, where appropriate Conduct site visits and/or virtual observations to review instructional practice, examine artifacts, and provide timely, actionable feedback connected to math pedagogy and implementation goals Help educators identify high-leverage use cases for AI that strengthen — rather than replace — strong instructional decision-making Content & Resource Development Develop, adapt, and curate practical tools, exemplars, facilitation guides, and resource collections to support professional learning and classroom implementation Co-create math-specific AI use cases, prompts, sample workflows, and planning tools that reflect grade-band and content-area needs Ensure materials reflect Bank Street’s commitments to developmental appropriateness, whole-child learning, and equitable access Contribute to the documentation of emerging practices, lessons learned, and examples of impact across projects Internal Capacity Building & Cross-Divisional Support Support the design and facilitation of internal professional learning, coaching, and capacity-building efforts related to AI across Bank Street’s three divisions Partner with colleagues across the college’s divisions to build a shared understanding of responsible, developmentally grounded, and equity-centered AI use Contribute to the development of internal tools, resources, and protocols that support college-wide learning and implementation Collaborate across teams to identify emerging needs and adapt supports as the AI Learning Lab evolves Partnership & Project Collaboration Collaborate closely with internal colleagues and external partners to align learning experiences with project goals, partner priorities, and implementation timelines Support planning for cohort-based learning, school-based engagements, and cross-functional project meetings Maintain clear, consistent, and proactive communication with participants and project teams regarding next steps, deliverables, and support needs Track coaching interactions, participation trends, and project milestones using appropriate tools to support reflection and continuous improvement Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of the evolving priorities of the AI Learning Lab, the mathematics portfolio, and the Bank Street Education Center. Qualifications: Skills & Knowledge: Strong knowledge of high-quality mathematics instruction and curriculum, including student discourse, problem solving, conceptual understanding, equitable participation, and the effective use of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate professional learning for adult learners and to coach educators in implementing new instructional practices Demonstrated AI literacy and hands-on experience using AI tools in educator-facing contexts, including the ability to apply AI thoughtfully to lesson design, differentiation, formative assessment, resource development, and professional learning Demonstrated ability to support educators in the responsible, pedagogically grounded integration of AI into mathematics teaching and learning Strong ability to create practical, polished professional learning materials, coaching tools, implementation guides, and facilitation resources Strong writing, documentation, project management, organization, and communication skills, including the ability to manage multiple workstreams and maintain clear, proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders Strong understanding of and commitment to progressive, whole-child, development-focused education Proficiency with Google Workspace (e.g., Docs, Sheets, Slides) and other collaboration and documentation tools Experience: Minimum Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
