    "description": "<h2>Description</h2>\n<p><strong>This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days. </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>As a member of the structural design team, this position will offer you the opportunity to work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in developing structural physical layout drawings in a 3-D model</li>\n <li>Challenging assignments that include the design of structural supports and foundations, and investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving a wide variety of structural design issues</li>\n <li>Utilize 3D modeling software tools to generate structural design schematics</li>\n <li>Act as the structural design team lead in the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of an integrated structural design model.</li>\n <li>Participate in the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of an integrated structural design model</li>\n <li>Coordinate and provide guidance to other designers and project team members to ensure a complete and timely design.</li>\n <li>Independently and as a member of a design team, plan and execute structural design deliverables</li>\n <li>There may be the opportunity to accompany and assist senior designers and engineers in field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities</li>\n <li>Challenging assignments that include the design of structural supports and foundations, and investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving a wide variety of structural design issues.- Generate structural design schematics.</li>\n <li>Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced drafters and designers. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in Canada for this position.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This position may require access to U.S. export-controlled information. Please click here to determine your eligibility.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Essential skills and experience:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>A foundational undergratuate program in a technical area including drafting, or a high school diploma and 1 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience</li>\n <li>Five (5) or more years of detailed design experience in the development of structural steel design and reinforced concrete design drawings</li>\n <li>Proficiency with design software tools in executing 3D plant layout models</li>\n <li>Experience in the review of structural layout drawings involving steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, foundations, and rebar detailing</li>\n <li>Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Valued but not required experience:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficiency with MicroStation and or AutoCAD</li>\n <li>Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design</li>\n <li>Experience using AutoCad and Microstation software.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Sargent and Lundy is fully committed to abiding by all equal opportunity employment standards.
