We seek employees who bring different and innovative ways of seeing the world and solving problems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The CORS Hematology Oncology Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) will support clinical research patients treated at Fred Hutch & the University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position is onsite at our South Lake Union location. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  The start and end times may vary. </p>\n<p>This position is 1.0 FTE, 40 hours/week.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains equilibrium between care of the research participant, protocol requirements and compliance.</li>\n <li>Utilizes clinical research nursing expertise and judgement to advocate for others as needed</li>\n <li>Provides nursing and clinical operations expertise to the research team</li>\n <li>Partners with clinic nursing and study team to provide research specific patient and family education and documents appropriately</li>\n <li>Partners with clinic nurses to bridge patient from protocol requirements to clinical care</li>\n <li>Assists Investigators and study teams in pre-screening patients and confirming eligibility</li>\n <li>Supports investigators and study teams in adverse event assessments and documents appropriately for protocol required data entry\n  <ul>\n   <li>Understands CTCAE grading criteria to assist with proper documentation</li>\n   <li>Communicates and coordinates effectively with clinic nurse for symptom management, or clinical follow-up, providing the clinic nurse with all applicable protocol specific information needed for patient care</li>\n   <li>Assists PI/Study team in Serious Adverse Event Reporting</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Documents in EHR and includes research protocol details needed for data entry and compliance</li>\n <li>Supports investigators and study teams in reviewing and documenting concomitant medications</li>\n <li>Reconciles protocol required medication diaries</li>\n <li>Supports research coordinators in protocol required clinic visits when research nursing support is needed</li>\n <li>Supports PI in ensuring patient safety and protocol compliance</li>\n <li>Communicates investigational medication holds/modifications to patients as delegated by PI and within scope</li>\n <li>Facilitates communication and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams as needed</li>\n <li>Provides research education to clinical staff as appropriate</li>\n <li>Informs investigators and study staff of institutional policies and procedures that support protocol compliance, patient safety and clinical operation's efficiencies.</li>\n <li>Identifies problems or obstacles in the systems and procedures related to research operations, and communicates to the CORS Nurse Manager and study investigators as appropriate </li>\n <li>Participates in study required monitoring visits specific to the CRN job description when appropriate</li>\n <li>Attends Beacon orders validation meetings as appropriate</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Baccalaureate degree required</li>\n <li><p>Must have current Washington State <strong>Registered Nurse (RN)</strong> license or current NLC multistate license (MSL); and must upgrade to an MSL with primary state of residence, WA, within 60 days of hire. <em>This requirement may be waived under specific circumstances, subject to approval.</em></p></li>\n <li>Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two years</li>\n <li>Minimum 3 years of recent oncology experience</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team</li>\n <li>Demonstrated skills in critical thinking and problem solving</li>\n <li>Demonstrated process improvement mindset</li>\n <li>Ability to successfully work to deadlines and targets</li>\n <li>Experience in the care of oncology patients</li>\n <li>Experience with clinical research preferred</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, Teams)</li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Baccalaureate in nursing preferred</li>\n <li>Minimum of 2 years research experience preferred</li>\n <li>Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN), BMTCN, AOCN, AOCNS</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The annual base salary range for this position is from $104,457.60 to $165,089.60, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
