    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Carolina Poly, Inc. located in Chester, SC, is currently seeking a Safety and Environmental Specialist to join our team. Carolina Poly produces several lines of polyethylene products including high quality trash bags and construction films.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Coach employees on proper work methods and practices.</li>\n <li>Conduct facility safety audits and work with management team to ensure completion of corrective actions.</li>\n <li>Perform regular safety walks with the management team.</li>\n <li>Advise on methods to minimize safety risks and provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace</li>\n <li>Lead the accident investigation process.</li>\n <li>Intervene in unsafe activities or operations.</li>\n <li>Assist with LOTO reviews.</li>\n <li>Liaise with supervisors to ensure incident reports are complete and accurate and submitted in a timely manner.</li>\n <li>Attend employee safety talks.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with managers and supervisors to monitor compliance and identify safety issues.</li>\n <li>Assist departments with proper waste disposal practices.</li>\n <li>Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe machine operation.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be available for a 4 on 4 off schedule </li>\n <li>One-year experience in the Safety/Environmental field, preferably in a manufacturing environment</li>\n <li>Associates degree or equivalent hours in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Business, or other relevant field is required. May be substituted with OSHA Training Institute Certifications such as; Safety & Health Fundamentals, Specialist in Safety & Health, or others.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of basic software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Email, etc.)</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in all formats, including verbal, written & presentations</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of federal safety (OSHA) regulations and required programs in the manufacturing environment (29 CFR 1910)</li>\n <li>Ability to accept coaching and guidance and work in a team environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Carolina Poly, Inc.  offers competitive compensation packages including Medical/Dental, paid vacations and holidays, and 401(K).</p>\n<p> </p>",
