Description
Job Title : CMM Programmer
Job Summary: The CMM Programmer is responsible for developing and executing measurement programs using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure the dimensional accuracy of CNC-machined automotive chassis components.
Responsibility:
Create, modify, and optimize CMM programs using software such as Calypso (Zeiss) and MCOSMOS (Mitutoyo). Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot CMM equipment. Follow automotive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) procedures. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models to develop accurate measurement routines. Collaborate with engineers to resolve dimensional layouts and improve manufacturing processes. Assist in departmental training. Perform capabilities studies, gauge repeatability and reproducibility along with providing statistical reports reflecting process control, process capability and gauge repeatability. Develop CMM work instructions. Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards and other required certifications. Travel to multiple local plants is required. Academic/Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree or technical certification in a related field preferred.
Required Skills/Experience
2+ Years proven experience as a CMM Programmer, with specific expertise in Zeiss and Mitutoyo CMM machines, in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently (self-directed) and in a team-oriented environment.
