A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant.</p><p><strong><u>APPLICATION INFORMATION</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>This position requires applicants to be at least 18 years of age at the time of application submission.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Employees in part-time/year-round positions may work no more than 29 hours per week.</li><li>When completing the application, applicants will be asked to respond to application questions.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Completion of the application questions is required.&nbsp;</li><li>Applicant responses to the application questions must specifically answer the questions asked.&nbsp;</li><li>Responses to application questions must be supported by work history/information listed on the application/resume.</li><li>Applicants may upload only two attachments.&nbsp; Attachments may include, but are not limited to a resume, cover letter, transcripts, etc.&nbsp; Applicants may also choose to combine documents into one file for upload.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Applications may not be reviewed if specific responses to application questions have not been provided.</li><li>Each application submission is reviewed independently.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong><u>DEPARTMENTAL INFORMATION</u></strong></p><p>This position is located in the <strong>Animal Welfare Division&nbsp;</strong>of the <strong>Development Services Department</strong> within the City of Oklahoma City and will be assigned to Animal Welfare Foster and Transfer Placement Assistant duties.&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>POSITION DESIGNATION</u>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 </strong><i><strong>et seq.,&nbsp;</strong></i><strong>(OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019.</strong>&nbsp;This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.</p><p><strong><u>JOB SUMMARY</u></strong></p><p>This position uses subject matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps that vary in nature and sequence. Licenses, certifications and/or relevant experience and education in the assigned program specialty are typically required prior to assuming this position. The employee selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures to more qualified staff. Typical duties may include: assisting in a variety of departmental projects or programs; handling and adjusting complaints; providing technical assistance or support to professional staff; driving between work sites and other locations to conduct inspections; transporting materials, equipment, and supplies; and supporting off-site programs and operational activities. This position may also provide specialized services in support of planned departmental programs and activities on a temporary or contract basis. Job assignments may include: performing as Volunteer Program Coordinator, Animal Welfare Foster and Transfer Program Assistant, Veterinarian Assistant, and Police Victim Services Assistant; providing hazard abatement assistance and support and technical support for utility billing functions; performing functions involving GIS drafting, mapping, and graphic design; work order and inventory control; marketing and communications; hazard abatement and oil and gas, storm shelter and fence inspections; installing communications equipment/mobile devices; completing environmental field work and paperwork; researching and assisting with writing plans and standard operating procedures; and performing functions related to Clean Water Act compliance and environmental protection. The necessary skills, knowledge, and ability and/or licenses and certifications to perform departmental specific tasks are typically acquired prior to assuming the duties of the position.
