Description

Overview Champion Window - Manufacturing Painter Level I The Manufacturing Painter Level I applies basecoat to windows and component surfaces. Reviews surfaces for any defects and qualifies repairs completed by the prep team. May be required to prepare surfaces for painting by wiping all surfaces with cleaner to removing oil, grease, excess paint and other contaminants. Primes surfaces as necessary. Will review production labels to identify appropriate color to be applied to the sash, frame and components. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in the area of specialty. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision from Team Lead and/or Supervisor. Pay Range : $23.00 - $25.00 / per hour Responsibilities • Effectively apply paint to windows & components, with spray equipment. • Moderate level of responsibility to identify defects, make repairs using tools provided, and make decisions for what can/cannot be repaired. • Responsibility to minimize Quality impact while meeting customer quality expectations.• Maintain Area and Equipment Cleanliness, including spray equipment, booth and work area.• Maintain efficient operation and output to meet customer demand.• Other duties assigned by supervisor/management• Properly utilize all required and recommended PPE while complying with Safety Guidelines and Regulations. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: • Basic Spray Equipment Operation and ability to Troubleshoot• Ability to decipher and understand production labels• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures associated with paint.• Read and interpret product and customer quality specs and identify defects. • High attention to detail detecting defects.• Ability to effectively apply paint coating to a high degree of accuracy and quality• Ability to effectively work with minimal supervision• High degree of personal quality standards, creativity and willingness to improve Qualifications • Minimum High School Diploma• Excellent Team Dynamics• Manufacturing Experience Preferred.• 2+ years of experience in the field of Paint/Stain application or in a related area Physical / Mental Demands: • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, bending, twisting, stooping, excellent dexterity.• Must work at a fast pace, fast pace is physically demanding. • Strong eye/hand coordination. Standing for long continuous hours. Lifting buckets of paint. • Constant attention to detail and accuracy of material placement.• Concentration on proper lifting and ensure floors are kept free of debris.
