This includes recognition of the importance of quality customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. &nbsp; The Registered Nurse displays sensitivity and empathy to the needs of patients, visitors and members of the Littleton Regional Healthcare staff. &nbsp;The Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to all patient types appropriate to the Medical/Surgical Unit.</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong><u>SUMMARY OF MAJOR FUNCTIONS:</u></strong></p><p>Under the direction of the Clinical Director of Inpatient Services and the Assistant Nurse Manager, the Medical/Surgical RN assumes responsibility for a patient assignment on the Medical/Surgical Unit. &nbsp;The RN utilizes and acquires knowledge of current and best practices in patient care. &nbsp;The RN retains the responsibility for the direction and guidance of ancillary personnel activities within the unit. &nbsp;The RN works to support the 5 pillars of excellence: &nbsp;people, quality, service, finance and growth.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The RN understands and adheres to all LRH and department specific policies and procedures as well as to the practice standards set forth in the New Hampshire Nurse Practice Act. &nbsp;This position will support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of Littleton Regional Healthcare and demonstrates a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, the public and coworkers. &nbsp; &nbsp;</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong><u>RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</u></strong><u>&nbsp;</u></p><table border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\"><tbody><tr><td valign=\"top\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Supports and contributes to the mission and vision of Littleton Regional Hospital with a continuous focus on excellence in customer service and patient care delivery.</li><li>Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with patients, visitors, staff, physicians and the community.</li><li>Assures confidentiality of patient information at all times.</li><li>Assesses personal learning and professional growth needs and seeks educational opportunities to meet those needs.</li><li>Performs other duties as needed within the scope of practice in support of departmental and institutional needs and requirements.</li><li>Adheres to LRH, department and compliance policies, procedures, regulations and laws. &nbsp;</li><li>Employs written policies and procedures according to the Littleton Regional Healthcare Nursing Department</li><li>Completes assigned applicable nursing competencies in a timely manner</li><li>Able to manage multiple priorities</li><li>Attends unit staff meetings</li><li>Participates in annual performance appraisal of self with Nurse Manger in a timely manner</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Provides complete and accurate charting of care and interventions provided to facilitate high quality of care across the patient continuum</li><li>Provides education to patients and their families</li><li>Works to include the patient and family in plan of care for patient</li><li>Works as a team with other members of Medical/Surgical unit to ensure that patient supplies are charged for in a timely manner</li><li>Exhibits excellent customer service to both external and internal customers</li><li>Works consistently to improve the customer experience</li><li>Participates in orientation of new personnel</li><li>Floats and/or is cross trained to work in other areas of LRH</li><li>Recognizes educational needs and facilitates professional growth</li><li>Participates in in-house educational programs</li><li>Maintains BCLS certification</li><li>Maintains ACLS certification&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains PALS certification&nbsp;</li><li>Participates in and promotes environmental safety</li><li>Promotes patient safety</li><li>Performs independently and functions in a professional manner</li><li>Participates in annual performance appraisal of self with Nurse Manger in a timely manner.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>QUALIFICATIONS:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Hampshire</li><li>Graduate of an accredited school of nursing</li><li>Bachelor of Science preferred</li><li>1-2 years previous clinical nursing experience in acute care setting preferred</li><li>National certification strongly encouraged</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p></td></tr></tbody></table><p><strong><u>REPORTS TO:</u></strong><strong>&nbsp;
