    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><link href=\"https://static.workforcenow.adp.com/mas/mdf-components/24.23.14/styles/froala_editor.pkgd.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"><strong>Position Summary Description</strong><p>To provide complex instrumentation and control (I&amp;C) and electrical engineering technician services to assist in attaining the goals of plant reliability, efficiency, safety and environmental compliance in the most cost-effective manner.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications and Education Requirements</strong></p><p>Graduation from standard high school or State Department of Education or graduation from United States Armed Forces Institute. Associate of Science or an Associate of Arts degree preferred. &nbsp; Eight (8) years of experience in large, modern power plants (or applicable equivalent training and education) dealing with the construction, operation and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation and control systems. Experience must include the development of technical specifications, economic studies, evaluation and analysis, or complex technical problems. &nbsp;Practical experience in and working knowledge of complex distributed control systems (DCS). &nbsp; Familiarity with NERC standards and procedures is preferred.</p><p><em>Core Competencies</em>: Adaptable, Collaborative, Conscientious, Critical-Thinking, Outcome-Driven and Professional&nbsp;</p><p><em>Technical Competencies/Skills</em>:</p><ul><li>Engineering technician abilities</li><li>Problem analysis</li><li>Analytical thinking</li><li>Knowledge of power plant design, operations and construction</li><li>Plant operations</li><li>Project planning and coordination</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications</li></ul><p><em>Soft Competencies/Skills</em>:</p><ul><li>Effective verbal/nonverbal, listening and written communications</li><li>Result-oriented</li><li>Organization</li><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Multi-tasking</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Detailed planning of equipment or process evaluation, testing and monitoring programs up to three years into the future.</li><li>Reviews proposed design modification developed by peer group within the department to ensure the completeness and applicability of the design.</li><li>Conducts design studies for Instrumentation and Controls process systems or equipment.</li><li>Prepares technical specifications, pricing documents, bidder&rsquo;s lists, bid evaluation criteria and project cost estimates for process systems, equipment or maintenance projects.</li><li>Assists other department technical staff on technical/engineering design criteria.</li><li>Works with technical staff and/or Engineering Supervisor to conduct analysis of complex plant operation or maintenance problems which could lead to design changes, alternate equipment selection, different operating practices or a combination there of. &nbsp;Makes recommendations based on the analysis results.</li><li>Conducts economic evaluation associated with equipment proposals or alternative practices.</li><li>Responsible for reviewing and commenting when assigned the lead responsibility for an analysis or evaluation.</li><li>Conduct operating or maintenance feasibility studies of complex electrical/I&amp;C engineering conditions and systems.</li><li>Acts as a technical advisor to both the plant operation and maintenance groups.</li><li>Conducts analysis of control systems, instrumentation, and electrical equipment failures to determine the source and preventative action.</li><li>Assists the DCS Administrators in troubleshooting and makes recommendations as to changes to the DCS systems.</li><li>Coordinates activities of outside consultants as assigned.</li><li>Take a proactive approach regarding personal safety, safety of others and comply with all OSHA and SECI safety rules. &nbsp;Must complete all necessary online or classroom safety courses as directed. &nbsp;Must participate in safety briefings and meetings.</li><li>Take a proactive approach regarding environmental rules and regulations governing the operation of the plant. &nbsp;Must complete all necessary online or classroom environmental courses as directed. &nbsp;Required to immediately report any, and all, environmental reportable incidents.</li><li>Performs other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li><strong data-pasted=\"true\">NERC Compliance:</strong> Performs NERC Compliance Program roles if/as designated in Seminole&#39;s Standard Ownership Matrix (SOM) including ongoing evidence retention in &quot;audit-ready&quot; form. You should also be familiar with Seminole&#39;s Enterprise Internal Compliance Program (ENT-GCD-RGC-EP-054) to further your understanding of Seminole&#39;s compliance program and your duties and responsibilities in the SOM.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><p>Must be able to work and access all locations of the plant and grounds. &nbsp;Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolds. &nbsp; Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). &nbsp;Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><p>Some travel and work outside of normal business hours. &nbsp;While working in certain areas of the plant, there is the potential for exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><em>&ldquo;<em>Disclaimer - Management may modify this job description at any time and may require the performance of additional duties,&nbsp;</em></em><em>or modification of physical requirements, with or without advance notice.&rdquo;</em></p></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
