Description

Summary Responsible for assigned mechanical, electrical, hydraulic repairs and preventive maintenance functions to fleet and DOT equipment/vehicles to ensure continuous production is consistent with established standards. Functional Responsibilities Work closely with Management with a responsibility of scheduling and tracking maintenance for fleet and DOT equipment/vehicles. Ability to maintain fleet and DOT vehicles with necessary repairs, state compliance and preventive maintenance to maintain operational production level. Troubleshoots equipment for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems problems. Performs repairs for all fleet and DOT equipment/vehicles efficiently and effectively. Ability to identify safety hazards and communicate effectively. Ability to work as a Team player and in a professional manner. Complies with Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures. Maintain good housekeeping practices within the working area. Helps to control District costs. Maintains documentation and repairs records. Performs other related duties as assigned. Certifications: Forklift Operator Diesel Mechanic Required Skills Experience Minimum 1-2 years. Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple oral and written instructions and effectively communicate/present information one-on-one or in small group situations. Mathematical Skills - Basic Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Reasoning Skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to be “On-Call” to ensure continues production is consistent with established standards. Required Knowledge Basic Electricity Forklift Operations Hydraulic Systems Diesel Mechanic Basic mechanic work Diesel engine maintenance Alternators Starters Suspension Etc. Trailers Lights Suspension Brakes Must have ability to comprehend Casing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and guidelines for implementation of SOP procedures. guidelines and Company policies. Must have ability to understand English/Spanish. Physical Demands This job requires frequent heavy work which is typical of an oilfield job. Employee will be exposed to outdoor weather elements, high noise and the potential of chemicals and fumes or gasses. Employee will stand or walk 75% of the time and frequently be asked to bend, squat, reach or climb. Employee must be physically capable of lifting, pulling, pushing tools and equipment up to 50lbs in a safe manner. Employee must be willing to work in a 24/7 environment. Employee must have ability to work extended hours on location and / or away from home for extended periods. Employee will be exposed to moderate to high noise and the potential of chemicals and fumes or gasses in a shop environment or at field location.
