With vertically integrated capabilities and a proven track record of innovation and execution, Vibrant helps customers accelerate to market without compromise. &nbsp; &nbsp;</p><p><strong>About the role:</strong></p><p>The Industrial Controls Engineer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the site&#39;s automation systems, including PLC infrastructure, HMI interfaces, process instrumentation, valves, and motors. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects to enhance safety, product quality, efficiency, and equipment reliability in a fast-paced food and beverage manufacturing environment.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><ul><li>Four (4) year B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field</li><li>5+ years of experience in industrial automation, preferably in a process-heavy, food manufacturing facility</li><li>Proficiency in PLC programming (preferably Allen-Bradley)</li><li>Strong understanding of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.)</li><li>Ability to wire, calibrate, and otherwise troubleshoot control devices (instruments, valves, VFDs, etc)</li><li>Ability to create and read electrical drawings.</li><li>Experience with MS Office applications</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>SKILLS, TRAITS, AND COMPETENCIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong knowledge of food processing equipment, automation, and sanitary design principles.&nbsp;</li><li>Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, FDA, USDA, and other food industry regulations.</li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong work ethic and sense of urgency</li><li>High energy, positive attitude, hands-on; with the ability to keep multiple projects and priorities on track</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure plant processes adhere to expected Safety and Quality standards and close gaps where necessary</li><li>Support plant Safety and Quality programs and assist with root-cause investigations for incidents or equipment/process failures</li><li>Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the plant control (PLC) systems and equipment. &nbsp;This includes enhancement, troubleshooting, replacement, and maintenance strategies</li><li>Ensure PLC/Industrial Control systems are operating reliably, includes maintaining program backups, spare parts, applying firmware updates, etc</li><li>Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation enhancements.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Quality, Maintenance) to implement improvements.</li><li>Analyze production data to recommend and execute control system modifications.</li><li>Provide automation expertise during the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and systems.</li><li>Develop functional specifications and control strategies for new projects.</li><li>Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure successful integration of automation systems.</li><li>Maintain documentation of PLC programs, network architecture, and control schematics.</li><li>Assist Engineering/Operations with troubleshooting and modifying PLC programs and systems</li><li>Direct Maintenance team with developing and implementing preventative maintenance and spare parts inventory levels to support reliable operation of the controls equipment</li><li>Perform other related duties as necessary</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p><ul><li>This position should expect to spend a significant amount of time on the floor, with plant employees, contractors, and processes.</li><li>Travel: although the position is largely based at the Eustis, FL facility; the employee should expect occasional travel to assist with opportunities at other sites, visit equipment vendors, etc.</li><li>Requires the ability to work in a manufacturing environment subject to varying temperatures and levels of noise.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50lbs and navigate stairs and ladders in a safe manner</li></ul><p><strong>What Vibrant Ingredients can offer you:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Generous time off for vacations</li><li>Paid Holidays</li><li>401(k) with company match</li><li>Tuition reimbursement</li><li>Medical/Dental/Vision</li><li>Health &amp; Wellness programs</li></ul><p><strong>More about us:</strong></p><p>Vibrant Ingredients, headquartered in Lake Mary, FL, is one of the world&#39;s leading independent providers of natural ingredients.
