General Description The Constituent Services Director serves as the primary liaison between the Office of Commissioner Wayne Christian and constituents across the State of Texas. This position is responsible for supporting the Commissioner’s daily operations, coordinating travel, and facilitating public engagement activities. The Director ensures effective communication, timely follow-up on constituent matters, and strategic coordination of field activities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and be able to adapt as circumstances require. In addition, the ability to exercise good judgment in all situations is required. The ideal candidate must be able to work under pressure, with frequent interruptions, to perform a variety of activities while maintaining strict confidentiality in all matters. Regular travel is also required for this position. Essential Job Duties • Serve as the primary point of contact for constituents, stakeholders, and community representatives. • Coordinate and support the Commissioner’s daily schedule, including meetings, travel logistics, and public appearances. • Travel with the Commissioner to events, meetings, and site visits across Texas. • Provide on-site operational and administrative support during events and engagements. • Track, manage, and respond to constituent inquiries, ensuring timely and professional communication. • Debrief senior staff following events and meetings, with an emphasis on identifying actionable items and follow-up tasks. • Collaborate with internal staff to ensure alignment on messaging, priorities, and constituent services. • Monitors important energy issues and develops necessary information to draft responses respond to constituent correspondence clearly and appropriately. • Maintain awareness of regional issues and stakeholder concerns to inform the Commissioner and senior leadership. • Assist in coordinating special projects and initiatives as assigned. Note : The ideal candidate is based in or near the Tyler, Henderson, and Kilgore areas. Regular travel is required, between 25% and 50% of the time.
