Responsibilities<br />\r\n Must be able to perform Occupational Therapy Evaluations, complete care plans, establish goals, and communicate frequently with OTA&rsquo;s who will assist in implementing the above<br />\r\n Work closely with patients, family members and other care team members to adequately plan for patient needs, to include short term and long term goals<br />\r\n Verify patient information and confirm purpose of treatment<br />\r\n Monitor each movement to ensure the patient is performing them properly to avoid new/further injuries<br />\r\n Effectively communicates with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans<br />\r\n Chart appropriately and daily, to include therapy notes, treatment times and labor hours<br />\r\n Assist patients in recovery and improving skills needed for daily functionalities<br />\r\n Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions<br />\r\n Must utilize good body mechanics at all times<br />\r\n Must be able to make safe, independent decisions when circumstances arise<br />\r\n Must be knowledgeable of occupational therapy policies and procedures as well as the laws and regulations<br />\r\n Must utilize good body mechanics at all times<br />\r\n Understand and comply with company policies<br />\r\n Must be able to assist in the evacuation Report occupational exposures of blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with the facility&rsquo;s policies and procedures governing accidents and incidents<br />\r\n Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Staff Development<br />\r\n Attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession, as well as to maintain any applicable licenses<br />\r\n Attend meetings and in-services as required<br />\r\n Complete assigned Relias training timely</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Equipment and Supply Functions<br />\r\n Recommend to the DOR equipment and supply needs for the department<br />\r\n Make periodic rounds to check equipment and to assure that necessary equipment is available and working properly<br />\r\n Clean equipment<br />\r\n Check supply rooms to assure that needed supplies are on hand<br />\r\n Ensure that all therapy equipment is operating in a safe manner<br />\r\n Ensure that therapy supplies are used in an efficient manner to avoid waste<br />\r\n Ensure that appropriate cleaning supplies are on hand to perform necessary clean-up</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Care Plan and Assessment Functions<br />\r\n Assist in the development of preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the therapy needs of each patient<br />\r\n Develop and maintain a good rapport with all services involved with the care plan to ensure that a team effort is achieved in developing a comprehensive plan of care</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Resident Rights<br />\r\n Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information<br />\r\n Know and practice the Center&rsquo;s policy on patient/residents rights</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Miscellaneous<br />\r\n Be sure that appropriate protective clothing/devices are on hand and used for handling infectious waste and/or blood/body
