Description

Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Machine Operator ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company policies and procedures. The Machine Operator will act in a manner that is consistent with Gordon Aluminum’s Customer 1st Philosophy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. The general purpose of the Machine Operator is to operate machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal work pieces. Maintaining safe work habits and a work area abiding by all safety policies Lift and load work pieces into the machine Takes the first part to QC Lab for first piece inspection approval (Must be able to operate Portage Table) or get assistants from Quality Tech Sets approved first piece at the machine center for reference until job is completed Checks all the dimensions and Process notes specified on the In-Process Inspection Report (Deburring countersink, or other minor operations to finish the piece) Performs final piece count, print tag and enter production in Shop-Trak when the order is done Performs required cleaning of machine and area Performs any and all other duties assigned by management
