    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Job Overview:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Under the direction of the Parks Supervisor, the Grounds &amp; Facilities Technician performs the day to day functions that are required of the Parks &amp; Planning Department. This position will help supervise part-time and seasonal staff.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Manages and executes the implementation of grounds care programs and projects</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Helps supervise the part-time and seasonal staff as needed</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Ensures the correct use of standard practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment in park maintenance, landscape maintenance, natural areas and construction</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Supports other Departments' programs and needs. Including, but not limited to: field maintenance, field set-up, special event set-up, waste removal, special projects, etc.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Maintains communications with, but not limited to staff, volunteers, the public and community officials</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Other duties as assigned</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Education, Experience &amp; Training:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">High school diploma or GED with 2 or more years’ experience and knowledge in one or more of the following fields preferred: Landscape maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical repair, or heavy equipment operation</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Must have extensive knowledge of landscape and grounds maintenance; tools, equipment, and techniques</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Must have extensive knowledge of all athletic field maintenance procedures</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Must be able to read, write, and understand English. Bi-lingual preferred</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Skills and Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Effective communication skills, both verbal and written</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Detailed oriented and accurate</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Ability to work independently or as part of a team</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Must have a valid Illinois state driver’s license</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Be able to obtain and maintain an Illinois Pesticide Operators license</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Ability to obtain and maintain current CPR and AED certification</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with stated values of the District</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Hours:</span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">April/May through October work days will require 4 Weekdays and 1 day on the Weekend. November through April/May, workdays are Monday through Friday. 40 hours per week.
