At The Salvation Army, your work supports a legacy of service, compassion, and practical assistance for those who need it most.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>The Sales Associate will  be responsible to perform a wide variety of duties in the store and the production area. They will maintain order, create and sustain a pleasant and hospitable work environment, and maintain good customer relationships.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide courteous, efficient service to all customers and donors.</li>\n <li>Assist with daily store operations including cashiering, stocking, sorting, pricing, and sales floor upkeep.</li>\n <li>Handle donations with care, ensuring items are sorted, tagged, and placed on the sales floor in proper categories and color order.</li>\n <li>Maintain merchandise displays and follow the rag-out calendar to rotate stock.</li>\n <li>Assist in cleaning and maintaining a safe, clutter-free store environment.</li>\n <li>Follow all cash handling, security, and operational procedures.</li>\n <li>Report theft, customer concerns, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management immediately.</li>\n <li>Provide guidance to community service workers and volunteers as directed by the Supervisor.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, or Corps Officer.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong><strong>SKILLS AND COMPETENICIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and manage multiple tasks.</li>\n <li>Good communication and customer service skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to lift, carry, and move donations and merchandise as required.</li>\n <li>Flexibility to assist across store functions (cashier, sorting, stocking, cleaning).</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Generous paid time off</li>\n <li>Paid holidays</li>\n <li>Sick leave</li>\n <li>Personal days</li>\n <li>Bereavement Leave</li>\n <li>Excellent medical, dental, and vision benefits</li>\n <li>Short-term and long-term disability</li>\n <li>Retirement plan</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>*Benefits may vary based on position classification and eligibility.</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The information in this job description indicates the general nature and level of work performed by an employee in this classification.
