We’re pleased with our growth – but we’re not stopping here.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>RBC serves its clients, invests in its employees, and competes for the future – every day.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and participate in E-Verify.</p>\n<h2>About this Role</h2>\n<p><strong><u>TRAVEL POSITION - Robinson Brothers Construction, LLC is seeking a reliable Fiber Optics Splicer candidate with proven experience in ribbon splicing to join our TRAVELING crew. </u></strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>**Applicants must be able to splice ribbons accurately and efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency.</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Our contracts span the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast, encompassing the western states.</strong></p>\n<p><strong>We are looking for talented individuals who are enthusiastic and ready to TRAVEL to various job sites. </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>*Travel position - We prioritize local assignments that enable our team to return home each night, while remaining flexible and ready to pursue opportunities wherever the job market takes us.</em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>A successful Fiber Optic Splicer candidate must have knowledge of established fiber optic procedures and techniques, familiarity with a wide range of tools and equipment, ability to read and understand prints/maps, safety rules, and operating instructions. Services may include performing inside wiring, cabling, knowledge of OTDR, various test equipment, and testing and maintenance services. Ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in ribbon splicing, strong manual dexterity, and a commitment to producing high-quality results.</p>\n<h2>What You'll Do</h2>\n<p>The Splicer position is a skilled position, and she/he is considered competent and authorized to work in this field. He/she will have the experience and knowledge to perform all the duties of a fiber Splicer. This position will need to be flexible in their hours, with occasional on-call duties including night and weekend work.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Daily Responsibilities:</u></strong></p>\n<p>All phases of telecommunication construction include but are not limited to: Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment.  </p>\n<p>  </p>\n<ul>\n <li> Assist in Fiber optic splicing </li>\n <li> Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, </li>\n <li> Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers </li>\n <li> Flagging traffic when required </li>\n <li> Flexibility to work in multiple locations </li>\n <li> Prepare splice locations, termination points, and installation of splice closures </li>\n <li> Clean, maintain, stock, and secure assigned vehicle and equipment daily </li>\n <li> Splice loose tube fiber </li>\n <li> Drive and properly use a bucket truck </li>\n <li> Operate splicing equipment </li>\n <li> Identify issues with fiber using red light </li>\n <li> Construct proper splice cases </li>\n <li> Place a mid-sheath splice </li>\n <li> Fill out audit sheets per location (per splice) </li>\n <li> Test and troubleshoot fiber using an OTDR </li>\n <li> Follow all safety rules and regulations </li>\n <li> Update job completion sheet </li>\n <li> Pull fiber when needed </li>\n <li> Complete cut sheet </li>\n <li> Pre-Trip vehicle inspection (daily) </li>\n <li> Ability to work at night /various hours.</li>\n <li>TRAVEL IS A MUST</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Bring</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Qualifications:  </u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.  </li>\n <li>Possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position.  </li>\n <li>A good driving record is required.  </li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner.  </li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner.  </li>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.  </li>\n <li>Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.  </li>\n <li>Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet  </li>\n <li>Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly without assistance  </li>\n <li>Knowledge of fiber optic color code and numbers associated  </li>\n <li>Ability to work flexible hours, which may include nights and weekends  </li>\n <li>Understanding of terminology used in fiber splicing  </li>\n <li>Experience splicing fiber including all necessary steps  </li>\n <li>1-3 years’ experience splicing fiber  </li>\n <li>TRAVEL IS REQUIRED</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u> </u></p>\n<p><strong><u>Preferred Qualifications:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous fiber experience, preferably in the telecommunication industry.  </li>\n <li>Able to perform all duties in fiber optic construction  </li>\n <li>MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Work Environment:</u></strong></p>\n<p>This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. This position may occasionally be exposed to natural gas and to the risk of electrical shock. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Physical Requirements:</u></strong></p>\n<p>The employee will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time), tolerate work in extreme weather conditions, speak and hear worksite safety instructions, withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching and feeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee will need to be able to regularly lift 50 pounds.
