We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Renal Transplant Clinic —a specialized unit dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients with complex renal needs. At PHC, you’ll work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment that values innovation, inclusion, and lifelong learning. Be part of our journey as we prepare to open the new St. Paul’s Hospital—a state-of-the-art health campus set to transform care delivery in British Columbia. Your day-to-day: Conduct thorough patient/resident assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and collaboration with peers Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices, prioritizing patient/resident needs Adhere to established policies, procedures, and PHC standards while providing high-quality nursing care Monitor patient/resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results Maintain accurate records of assessments, care plans, patient/resident status, and discharge plans using manual and computerized systems Identify and address patient/resident and family learning needs, providing education and referrals as necessary Provide direction to staff, promote teamwork, and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care Support nursing research initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient/resident care policies and procedures Advocate for patients/residents' rights and dignity, facilitate discharge plans, and collaborate with families and community resources Perform additional duties as assigned to support the healthcare team. Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratio Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPR) set the minimum number of nurses required to safely care for patients on a given unit. Developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the BC Nurses' Union (BCNU), and health organizations across British Columbia, mNPR provides a consistent and transparent approach to staffing that supports safe nursing practice and high-quality patient care. At Providence Health Care (PHC), our approach to implementing mNPR reflects our commitment to person-centred, socially just, compassionate care and our dedication to Indigenous cultural safety.
