    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a mission-driven, journeyman engineer with the ability to obtain a secret clearance to join our AMERICAN SYSTEMS Simulations and Systems team as an AEGIS Computer Network Technician Course Facilitator in Dahlgren, VA. Candidate will support the CSCS Training Support Program. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>THIS POSITION INCLUDES A $2,500 SIGN-ON BONUS!</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Develops, organizes and conducts training and educational programs for Fleet sailors in support of Aegis Training and Readiness Center in Dahlgren Virginia.</li>\n <li>Training program requires ability to conduct traditional classroom instruction and support tactical lab training.</li>\n <li>Candidate would serve as a Journeyman Instructor to train CG/DDG sailors in the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance for the UYQ-70 Local Area Network (LAN), its interface and associated equipment.</li>\n <li>Expert technician will the ability to train others in the alignment, adjustment, configuration, removal, replacement of the lowest replaceable unit to include diagnostic testing and system validation of the UYQ-70 LAN and all associated equipment.</li>\n <li>This equipment will include the ADS and CND UYQ-70 Consoles, X-STAB monitors, Bridge Routers to interface other LANs, Fiber Optic Data Distribution and ETHERNET interfaces and their associated File Servers and Application Processors, HP-UX and HP-RT.</li>\n <li>When required, the candidate would provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for ATRC courses supporting present and future courses development of the AEGIS MK-99 AEGIS Fire Control System/MK84 400Hz Power Distribution System/Ballistic Missile Defense Technician courses.</li>\n <li>Provides dynamic teaching &amp; training as well as assessment that require advanced knowledge of U.S. Navy Aegis Combat Systems Capabilities and Limitations to the officer level.</li>\n <li>Reviews and analyzes U.S. Navy Aegis Combat System Engineering Capabilities and Limitations and U.S. Navy Operational and Tactical doctrine and integrates and conceptualizes the execution of Doctrine optimizing the application of ship's Combat Systems capabilities and limitation in the dynamic operational tactical environment.</li>\n <li>Conducts dynamic assessment of the sailors’ abilities to comply with approved maintenance and operational procedures and thereafter provides formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain technical and tactical proficiency.</li>\n <li>Observes and assesses contemporaries during Practice and Certification Teaches per requirements NAVEDTRA 135.</li>\n <li>Prepares, reviews, and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guide in support of traditional classroom teaching.</li>\n <li>Supports Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates; conducts training gap analysis provides formal feedback and recommendation for Course improvement.</li>\n <li>Documents the training conducted with specifics of the individual areas / watch station and is responsible for generation of a formal assessment of measure of success via written report.</li>\n <li>Develops, tests, maintains and delivers moderately complex Aegis training programs and related materials in support of ATRC training objectives.</li>\n <li>Establishes and reviews course content and objectives.Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.</li>\n <li>Maintains records of training activities, participant progress and program effectiveness.</li>\n <li>Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>AMS</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work/military experience.</li>\n <li>Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance</li>\n <li>At least three (3) years of experience in:\n  <ul>\n   <li>With the required system as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment</li>\n   <li>Of the three years, one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>THIS POSITION INCLUDES A $2,500 SIGN-ON BONUS!</strong></p>\n<h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00/Yr. - USD $85,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
