    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>About the Job</u></strong><br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Bridgeport, WV<br><strong>Schedule:</strong> Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM start; occasional Saturdays as needed</p><div style=\"font-family: &quot;Segoe UI&quot;; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; line-height: 20px;\"><p>The <strong>Transportation Manager</strong> is responsible for the performance management of frontline transportation employees across multiple lines of business, including Commercial, Roll-off, and Residential services. This role oversees approximately 15 drivers and helpers, with full accountability for onboarding, training, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.</p><p>As a hands-on, field-based leader, the Transportation Manager spends the majority of the day working directly alongside frontline employees to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service. The role emphasizes building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with team members while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and engagement.</p><p>This position requires a driven, self-motivated individual who can effectively address performance issues, and continuously improve route execution and productivity. The Transportation Manager plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence across all service lines while developing a high-performing and motivated team.</p></div><p><strong><u>What You'll be Doing</u></strong><br>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Ensuring new frontline employees have tools, instruction, and feedback for successful daily duties</li><li>Meet with new frontline employees daily to ensure consistent communication and support of onboarding</li><li>Provide timely and consistent touchpoints with frontline employees.</li><li>Regular review of best practices to enhance daily performance</li><li>Focus on understanding and progress of frontline employee career goals</li><li>Identify and address improvement opportunities and collaborate with frontline employees to ensure continued success</li><li>Actively practice and seek feedback on coaching conversations.</li><li>Lead by example to ensure safety practices are paramount with each employee and</li><li>Teaching and developing an understanding of the WM Way</li><li>Conducts Root Cause Investigations for all injuries and incidents, ensuring consistent discipline and retraining.</li><li>Documents and maintains records required by regulatory agencies such as the Department of Transportation.</li><li>Reviews and audits documentation related to route operations daily (e.g., DVIRs, driver time and attendance, open tickets), following up where appropriate.</li><li>Visits customers and customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues, seeking service alternatives where appropriate.</li></ul><p><br><strong><u>What does it take to be a Transportation Manager with WM?</u></strong><br><br>A.
