    "description": "<h2>The Position</h2>\n<p>The <strong>STEM Specialist </strong>leads specialized classes to create a space for hands-on science projects and interactive demonstrations for our youngest campers. We provide the training, curriculum & daily camp schedules along with all equipment for a successful camp day but need you to bring camp to life with your enthusiasm, dedication and un-matched energy.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Camper ages:</strong> 3-6 years old</p>\n<p><strong>Activities include:</strong> mason jar habitats, slime, crafty and themed hats, camouflaged animal searches, wearable dinosaur tails, creature footprints, rain clouds in a jar</p>\n<p><strong>Weekly themes include:</strong> Animals, superheroes, insects, outer space </p>\n<h2>Role Information</h2>\n<p><strong>Schedule: </strong></p>\n<p>In-season (mid June through mid-August): 7:30 am – 3:45 pm Monday – Friday</p>\n<p>Pre-season (early June): select weekends for training and site preparation</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Compensation: $</strong>18.50 / hour</p>\n<h2>What You'll Do</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Bring Camp to Life</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Implement pre-written STEM curriculum for up to 9 groups of 12 to 16 campers in 30 minute rotations</li>\n   <li>Prep for upcoming activities, including cutting out shapes, pre-assembly, making samples, and testing experiments to ensure enjoyable and age-appropriate camper experiences </li>\n   <li>Model pristine classroom management and camper engagement skills, coaching group counselors to learn techniques and support during your classes</li>\n   <li>Monitor and routinely inventory materials in the STEM storage area, and complete bin checks weekly for upcoming theme activities, communicating missing items with the Program Leader </li>\n   <li>Implement Headfirst’s safety protocols on supervision, bathrooms, emergency medications, and camper behavior management</li>\n   <li>Execute morning and afternoon carpool as a key player, welcoming each family to camp by name with fantastic dance moves and coordinated carpool procedures</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Nurture Physical, Social & Emotional Safety </strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Work directly with campers to support them in their emotional, physical, and social development through hands-on exploration and developmentally appropriate activities</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Be an Active Member of the Camp Team</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Arrive on time, communicate schedule changes promptly, be a loyal and consistent team member who shows up for the campers and your team</li>\n   <li>Work directly alongside your teammates to create the best experience possible for all campers</li>\n   <li>Be flexible and open to supporting other activities on site including lunch, snack, Special Event, and carpool</li>\n   <li>Committed to adhering to the Cell-Phone Free policy, powering down and putting away cell phones in a locked pouch for the duration of your shift.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Represent Headfirst for Families & Facility Partners</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Represent the Headfirst brand daily to families at carpool and to school facility partners throughout the summer by being enthusiastic, helpful, hands-on, and in uniform</li>\n   <li>Actively participate in our efforts to take care of our camp facility and community, keeping your programming area spotless and organized</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Handle the Curveballs</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Practice resiliency and arrive with a “How Can I Help?” mentality that puts camper experience and team success at the forefront through problem solving and trying new things</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>About You</h2>\n<p><strong>Must be at least 19 years old with at least (1) years at an undergraduate institution or equivalent professional experience. </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong><u>Experience:</u></strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Majors in education and child development viewed favorably.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><strong><u>Must be able to:</u></strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Work around small children including, sitting, standing, running, and climbing stairs for the full day.</li>\n   <li>Work in hot and outdoor environments while actively supervising campers and participating in dynamic activities for extended periods of time. </li>\n   <li>Lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally. </li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Headfirst Summer Camps is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
