    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Space Physics Group in the Department of Astrophysical Sciences is seeking a Kit Assembly Associate to prepare kits and to manage inventory. The kits are on topics related to the NASA IMAP science mission described below.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a part-time, temporary summer job on Princeton University’s campus. The schedule will be approximately 20-25 hours per week during weekday business hours. The hourly compensation for this role ranges from $17 to $18, commensurate with experience.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Please submit a cover letter and resume with your application. In your cover letter, please provide the following information:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>A short description of your qualifications and why you are interested in this position</li>\n <li>Highlight prior STEM teaching experience, if applicable</li>\n <li>Please provide your preferred start date and end date within the following dates: May 26 – August 31, 2026</li>\n</ul>\n<p>About IMAP</p>\n<p>Launched in 2025, NASA’s Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe (IMAP) explores our solar neighborhood by decoding particles from the Sun and beyond our cosmic shield. The spacecraft carries 10 cutting-edge instruments and orbits about one million miles from Earth toward the Sun, allowing it to study the boundary of the Solar System and provide warnings of harmful radiation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>About IMAP Outreach</p>\n<p>IMAP Outreach engages community organizations across the country through themed educational activities and communications.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The Kit Assembly Associate will work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to assemble and prepare outreach kits by interpreting packing lists, organizing scientific materials and technical components, and ensuring accuracy and completeness prior to shipment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Responsibilities also include inventory management and supply tracking using Excel, restocking materials, monitoring inventory levels, and supporting packing, labeling, and shipping operations.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to perform technical assembly tasks accurately and efficiently are essential.</li>\n <li>Experience using Excel is required.</li>\n <li>Must be able to lift 30 lb boxes.</li>\n <li>Willingness to learn project management software to track tasks (Basecamp)</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree or certificate and experience in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) Education preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Be advised that you will be contacted only if there is further interest in your application.
