For more information visit our New Employee Resources.&nbsp;</li><li>This position is represented by an employee association (bargaining unit). &nbsp;Please see the Employee Associations Page for the current master agreement and important documents associated with your bargaining unit.&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p></div><div><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></div><div><ul><li>Collaborates with and supports the needs of students, staff, and families by fostering an understanding of vision loss; provides a continuum of evidence-based intervention strategies and services to improve compensatory strategies for increased achievement.</li><li>Teaches and instructs academic content areas, adapted technology, and daily living skills; develops and executes individualized lesson plans in all subject areas, providing for direct instruction while maintaining a focus on District standards and benchmarks.</li><li>Procures and provides adapted materials and equipment, including Braille and Technology for the blind and visually impaired students as needed<br>Conducts academic and functional vision evaluations and teaches strategies for improved use of vision<br>Provides classroom teacher support.</li><li>Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.</li><li>Observes, evaluates, reports, and records student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.</li><li><p>Other duties as assigned.</p><p><br><br>&nbsp;</p></li></ul></div><div><strong>What You’ll Need:</strong></div><div><ul><li>Hold a <strong>Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field required</strong>.
