Description
Job Summary:
The Physician Assistant provides advanced clinical support to supervising physicians in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients undergoing venous, arterial, and vascular procedures. This includes conducting patient assessments, assisting with procedures, developing care plans, monitoring clinical outcomes, and promoting efficient and safe patient care.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
Assist with performing venous and arterial procedures under physician supervision. Conduct patient interviews, perform physical examinations, and obtain and update medical histories. Identify patient care needs and recommend appropriate treatment plans or interventions. Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans. Perform histories, examinations, formulate differential diagnoses, and document findings. Promote timely patient outcomes and efficient resource utilization. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and licensure requirements. Monitor patient outcomes in alignment with established clinical standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives. Maintain and enhance professional knowledge through ongoing education and professional participation. Perform quality work within deadlines with or without supervision. Maintain professional interactions with staff, patients, and outside partners. Work independently while coordinating care with supervising physicians and the clinical team. Required Skills / Abilities:
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Ability to assist with venous, arterial, and endovascular procedures. Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal abilities. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage patient flow and priorities. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a procedural environment. Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and regulatory standards. Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Education and Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and 1 year of surgical experience required. Endovascular experience preferred. Current certification as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA (or successor). Prescriptive authority or eligibility to apply within the first 6 months of employment.
