The Role As Director of Sales, you’ll be a key force driving Xendee’s growth for both our design software and our AI energy management software that integrates with many commercial SCADA and DER control systems. You’ll lead end-to-end sales efforts - from strategy through execution - building trusted customer relationships and shaping how the market experiences Xendee’s innovative solutions. This role demands a balance of strategic foresight, integrated software/hardware complex sales, and hands-on execution: the ability to close near-term opportunities while developing a long-term, scalable sales pipeline. What You’ll Do Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for Xendee’s SaaS design and real-time energy management software offerings, balancing short-term wins with long-term growth. Source and manage new opportunities through inbound and outbound channels, driving adoption among commercial, government, and enterprise customers. Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients - from onboarding through the full customer lifecycle - earning credibility in a startup environment where brand trust is still being established. Confidently articulate the value proposition of complex integrated software/hardware solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Identify and pursue high-profile strategic accounts, using creativity and persistence to differentiate Xendee in a competitive market. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Engineering to refine offerings based on customer feedback and market trends. Lead compelling product presentations and demonstrations to drive upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities. Maintain and expand a well-organized CRM pipeline with an emphasis on continuous process improvement and scalability. What You Bring 5+ years of sales experience in SaaS or technology startups; experience in cleantech, DERs, or energy systems is a strong plus. Proven success selling in a startup environment, navigating challenges such as limited brand recognition and competition with established players. Experience leading and closing complex software/hardware sales cycles for enterprise-grade solutions. Strong technical acumen and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to engineers, and decision makers. Strategic and critical thinking with the ability to design creative go-to-market strategies and balance tactical execution with long-term pipeline building. Resilience and tenacity to drive results in the face of startup sales obstacles and evolving product landscapes. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
