    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Under the general direction of the Membership Director and consistent with the mission and the policies and procedures set forth by the YMCA of Catawba Valley, the<strong> Child Watch Teacher</strong> is responsible for the safety and well being of all patrons entering the child-watch area.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The Child Watch Teacher will be responsible for:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assuring the safety, health, and welfare of the children.</li>\n <li>Demonstrating and teaching the YMCA values of Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Caring.</li>\n <li>Organizing and maintaining classroom activity areas, materials, and supplies.</li>\n <li>Keeping the director advised of equipment and materials that need to be repaired or replaced.</li>\n <li>Maintaining constant supervision of children.</li>\n <li>Taking daily attendance and keeping all required reports pertaining to Child Watch.</li>\n <li>Establishing and maintaining effective communication with parents.</li>\n <li>Building good communications with other staff to create a professional atmosphere.</li>\n <li>Attending pre-employment and in-service training as required.</li>\n <li>Creating a learning environment.</li>\n <li>Keeping the Membership Director informed of problems.</li>\n <li>Attending staff meetings as scheduled.</li>\n <li>Reporting to work promptly.</li>\n <li>Being well-groomed at all times and reporting to work properly dressed.</li>\n <li>Any other duties assigned by the Membership Director or the Executive Director.</li>\n <li>All YMCA staff are responsible for creating a safe, inclusive environment. This includes following all YMCA policies and procedures related to abuse prevention, reporting concerns or incidents immediately, and maintaining appropriate boundaries with youth and members. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Must be at least 16 years of age</strong></li>\n <li>Current certification in first aid and safety and CPR</li>\n <li>Knowledge of emergency policies and procedures for the facility</li>\n <li>Understanding of risk management issues and safety requirements for the facility</li>\n <li>Must have good communication and organization skills</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program</li>\n <li>Retirement Contribution</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>OUR YMCA CULTURE:</strong></p>\n<p>Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture.
