Description

Overview Work Location: Washington, DC Work Arrangement: Onsite Clearance: Must have an active Secret clearance The Jr. Systems Administrator supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, user accounts, endpoints, and core systems. This role focuses on providing hands-on technical support, assisting with system administration tasks, monitoring system performance, and escalating complex issues as needed. The Jr. Systems Administrator will work closely with senior IT staff and other departments to help maintain secure, reliable, and efficient technology services. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Assist with administering, configuring, and supporting Windows Server infrastructure and core services such as Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services under the guidance of senior IT staff Monitor system health, logs, and alerts; respond to routine incidents and service requests; document issues and escalate more complex problems when necessary Support backup and restore operations by monitoring jobs, assisting with recovery tasks, and helping maintain current operational documentation and runbooks Perform user account management, access provisioning, and basic system maintenance activities, including patching, updates, and routine checks Provide desktop and endpoint support for Windows 10/11 systems, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues Assist with IT projects, system deployments, asset tracking, and knowledge base updates to improve operational efficiency and end-user support Administer the SharePoint Knowledgebase site, including creating folders and managing permission groups Must be able to support monthly maintenance activities and on-call rotation for critical outages Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent experience, plus 2 years of relevant work experience. Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
