PDG is seeking a Project Engineer to add to our growing and talented Transportation team.&nbsp;</p><p>As a Project Engineer specializing in Bridge design, your role will include preparing complete project documents for structural components of transportation projects; reviewing complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance; and coaching junior staff in the preparation of design calculations, design details, specifications and cost estimates for structural components of transportation projects.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Oversees and performs the preparation of design calculations and details</li><li>Oversees and performs the preparation of contract plans and specifications</li><li>Oversees and performs the preparation of construction cost estimates</li><li>Oversees and performs the review of construction submittals</li><li>Assists with the management of projects</li><li>Leads field visits to collect data and evaluate existing conditions</li><li>Leads field visits to resolve construction issues</li><li>Coaches junior staff</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Possesses knowledge of applicable engineering principals and techniques</li><li>Effectively expresses thoughts and ideas both verbally and in writing in the English language&nbsp;</li><li>Proficient in the use of applicable computer software</li><li>Performs assigned tasks accurately and efficiently</li><li>Is an active and supportive team member</li><li>Understands basic safety requirements</li><li>A Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering&nbsp;</li><li>5 - 10 years of progressive experience in the field</li><li>Professional Engineer (PE)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p><ul><li>Professional office environment</li><li>Occasional work outside of the office at project sites&nbsp;</li><li>Travels occasionally within NY State and surrounding areas&nbsp;</li><li>Interacts primarily with other PDG personnel&nbsp;</li><li>Receives close supervision, training and mentoring when necessary</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p><ul><li>Must physically be able to &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;perform field inspection work, e.g., carry/climb ladders, wade in streams, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;work around traffic, work at heights, etc.</li><li>This job requires prolonged periods of sitting at a computer&nbsp;</li><li>This job requires the ability to lift up to 25lbs</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About Popli Design Group (PDG)</strong>&nbsp;</p><p>PDG is a well-established multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering firm that has been serving clients since 1982.
