    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><link href=\"https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/[email protected]/css/froala_editor.pkgd.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"></div><p id=\"isPasted\"><em>All Nexus Health Systems employees will need to meet the requirements outlined in the Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services (CMS) interim final rule requiring all workers in most health care settings that participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The rule is effective November 5, 2021. Under the regulation, all eligible workers of Nexus Health Systems must be fully vaccinated by January 4, 2022.</em></p><p>Nexus Health Systems&rsquo; nationally recognized Neurorecovery Center (formerly known as Touchstone Neurorecovery Center) allows non-medically complex patients recovering from any kind of neurological diagnosis to discharge from the hospital to a home-like environment. Situated on 26 acres, our campus features six resident homes, a 24,500 square foot state-of-the-art rehab facility, and 38 different programming areas. Our primary goal of targeted post-acute rehabilitation and therapy is to help our residents return to work, school, or home and lead productive lives through holistic treatment.</p><p>&nbsp;POSITION SUMMARY:<link href=\"https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/[email protected]/css/froala_style.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"></p><div class=\"fr-view\"><div>The Speech Therapist serves as the facility speech therapist conducting patient speech assessments, evaluations and performing speech therapy services.</div><p><br></p><p>JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Performs speech therapy for facility patients as assigned.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Screens, evaluates and develops individualized treatment plans.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Evaluates patients within two to three working days of physician referral, depending on level of care.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Provides age appropriate therapeutic interventions.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Evaluates patient response to treatment and documents the treatment plan as necessary.&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Provides information retreatment and updates to staff, physician and family members</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Documents treatment and outcomes daily according to accepted regulatory, corporate and professional guidelines.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Provides patient and family education on tasks and resources that will assist with continued functional independence.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Communicates results of speech-language evaluations and recommendations to treatment team and patient/family.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participates in patient care conferences as necessary to provide updated patient progress and goal revisions if needed.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Serves as a resource in areas of speech-language pathology.&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Conducts in-services as requested.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Coordinates treatment activity with other disciplines and team members as appropriate.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Contributes to the development of improved efficiency and productivity of unity clinical functions.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Offers positive suggestions/solutions to improve service delivery and unit operations.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Assists with the development of student programs as requested.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Contributes to the delivery of cost effective care.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Utilizes resources appropriately and uses/maintains equipment in order to prolong working life.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participates in discharge planning.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Documents and charges daily therapeutic units timely and accurately.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Communicates with the Director of Clinical Services regarding department programs, goals, objectives, problems and successes.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Supervise SLPA in direct patient care and patient related activities.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Performs other duties as assigned.</p><p>Qualifications:</p><p>EDUCATION:</p><ul type=\"circle\"><li>Graduate of master&rsquo;s level program in which is either accredited by the Speech Language Pathology Educational Standards Board or whose course work and practice meet course ASLHA certification.</li></ul><p>EXPERIENCE:</p><ul type=\"circle\"><li>Minimum of one year working with adult and adolescent populations preferably in a hospital setting.</li></ul><p>LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:</p><ul type=\"circle\"><li>Must be licensed by the state of Texas in Speech-Language Pathology</li><li>Must be certified in CPR</li><li>Must maintain current certification in good standing during employment with this facility</li></ul></div><p></p></div>\n",
