The Certified Medical Assistants will be performing Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed. The Certified Medical Assistant will assist with care for U.S. Active Duty members, their dependents, and eligible retirees.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Minimum Qualifications for Certified Medical Assistant</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><u>Degree:</u> Certificate.</li>\n <li><u>Education:</u> Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.</li>\n <li><u>Alternative Education Requirements:</u> As an alternative to the education requirements in the basic contract section 5.2.4 and Exhibit 5, the HCW may be a graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by any of the following:</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).</li>\n <li>Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).</li>\n <li>Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).</li>\n <li>Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior College (ACCJC).</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><u>Certification:</u> Certified Medical Assistant Only: Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Current registration by the American Medical Technologists or other formal program.</li>\n <li><u>Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support</u>: Certified Medical Assistant Only: Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Current registration by the American Medical Technologists or other formal program as specified in the TO</li>\n <li><u>Experience:</u> One year of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation. For CMAs working at NMCSD,\n  <ul>\n   <li>successful performance as a Medical Assistant within the preceding six (6) months.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Core Duties for Certified Medical Assistant</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare examination rooms prior to patient's arrival.</li>\n <li>Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.</li>\n <li>Check patient's vital signs, to include temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading.</li>\n <li>Obtain and document patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies and vital signs on the correct form.</li>\n <li>Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.</li>\n <li>Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance of examination rooms.</li>\n <li>Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinic policies.</li>\n <li>Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departing time when patient is released.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Work Schedule:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Monday - Friday</li>\n <li>No nights and weekends</li>\n <li>8 hours a day, 7:30am-4:30pm </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits</strong></p>\n<p>$26-$29 hr.
