    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p>\n<p>We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Software Engineer (SVP level) to join the IB Tech &amp; CRM/Analytics organization. This role is responsible for setting engineering strategy and technical direction across multiple teams and platform workstreams that power data-driven, event-driven solutions across Investment Banking and client-facing business units.</p>\n<p>The position combines strategic technical leadership, platform-scale architecture ownership, and hands-on engineering judgment, with direct engagement with senior business and technology stakeholders. The SVP will define how services are designed, built, deployed, and operated across the organization while ensuring delivery excellence and long-term scalability.</p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Set engineering strategy and technical direction across multiple teams and critical platform initiatives</li>\n <li>Own the technical roadmap for shared platform services, making organization-level decisions on architecture, tooling, and standards</li>\n <li>Oversee delivery across multiple engineering teams, managing senior engineers and team leads</li>\n <li>Drive alignment across teams on priorities, outcomes, timelines, and architectural direction</li>\n <li>Independently identify and resolve complex, cross-cutting technical challenges at platform scale</li>\n <li>Establish and enforce standards for service design, deployment, observability, reliability, and security</li>\n <li>Champion event-driven architecture and streaming platforms using Kafka</li>\n <li>Partner directly with senior Investment Banking stakeholders and technology leadership to shape strategy and execution</li>\n <li>Provide architectural guidance and review for Java-based microservices and APIs, remaining hands-on where necessary</li>\n <li>Serve as a senior technical authority during design reviews, incident retrospectives, and major platform decisions</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>15+ years of experience building and scaling enterprise-grade, distributed systems</li>\n <li>Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and distributed systems design</li>\n <li>Proven experience defining and executing org-wide architectural standards and multi-year technical roadmaps</li>\n <li>Strong background in event-driven systems using Kafka in high-throughput, low-latency environments</li>\n <li>Extensive experience with AWS, containerized platforms (EKS, Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD at scale</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of data architecture, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redshift</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to operate credibly with senior business and technology leadership</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical trade-offs at executive level</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>SVP-Level Leadership Expectations</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Has managed engineering managers or senior technical leads across multiple teams</li>\n <li>Driven platform and architecture strategy impacting multiple business units</li>\n <li>Recognized as a trusted technical advisor by senior stakeholders</li>\n <li>Operates effectively at both strategic and hands-on levels, reviewing architecture and code as needed</li>\n <li>Proactively identifies scalability, reliability, and organizational risks before they impact the business</li>\n <li>Builds strong, inclusive engineering cultures across regions and time zones</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience in Investment Banking or Financial Services technology platforms</li>\n <li>Exposure to Python (FastAPI) alongside Java</li>\n <li>Familiarity with the broader Apache ecosystem</li>\n <li>Experience integrating CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) with cloud-native systems</li>\n <li>Background in data engineering platforms (Databricks, streaming ETL, real-time analytics)</li>\n <li>Experience modernizing or replacing legacy enterprise platforms at scale</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>About the Team</strong></p>\n<p><span>The IB Tech &amp; CRM/Analytics organization leads Jefferies’ global digital transformation, delivering cloud-native, event-driven platforms that replace legacy systems and provide actionable insights, decision support, and transparency across client and business workflows.
