We also provide attractive working conditions and opportunities for career growth through professional development. <strong>Discover why Cooper University Health Care is the employer of choice in South Jersey.</strong></p>\n<h2>Short Description</h2>\n<p><strong>Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Acute Care Surgery</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Patient Assessment & Management</strong>: Perform comprehensive assessments of acute surgical patients, develop and implement treatment plans, monitor progress, and adjust care as needed in collaboration with resident and attending physicians. </li>\n <li><strong>Critical Care Procedures</strong>: Perform bedside procedures such as suturing, drain placement/removal and wound care management.</li>\n <li><strong>Coordination of Care</strong>: Work closely with surgeons, critical care intensivists, surgery and medicine residents, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care.</li>\n <li><strong>Patient Monitoring</strong>: Continuously evaluate patient condition, monitor vital signs, and interpret lab results, diagnostic imaging, and other data to guide treatment decisions.</li>\n <li><strong>Family Communication</strong>: Provide education and emotional support to patients' families, ensuring they are well-informed about the patient's condition, treatment options, and prognosis.</li>\n <li><strong>Clinical Documentation</strong>: Maintain detailed and accurate electronic medical records (EMRs) of patient care, including assessments, treatments, interventions, and outcomes.</li>\n <li><strong>Leadership & Education</strong>: Serve as a clinical leader through nursing staff education and contribute to the training of students and residents as needed.</li>\n <li><strong>Continuous Improvement</strong>: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with best practices in emergency surgery care.</li>\n <li> </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills: </strong>Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and leadership skills.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong>: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.</p>\n<h2>Experience Required</h2>\n<p>Minimum 2-3 years of experience in surgery, trauma, emergency medicine, or critical care settings preferred. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Education Requirements</h2>\n<p>Master's Degree - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required</p>\n<h2>License/Certification Requirements</h2>\n<p>Board certification Nurse Practitioner and Acute Care certification or Board certification as Physician Assistant; Active New Jersey License; American Heart Association BLS and CDS/DEA</p>\n<h2>Special Requirements</h2>\n<p><strong>Schedule Hours/Days: </strong>Full Time</p>\n<h2>Salary Min ($)</h2>USD $52.00\n<h2>Salary Max ($)</h2>USD $86.00",
