We provide:  </p>\n<ul>\n <li> Comprehensive health benefits that start day 1  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Student Loan Repayment Assistance & Reimbursement Programs  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Family-focused benefits  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Wellness incentives </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ongoing mentorship, development, leadership programs </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>And more </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Description</h2>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Transports patients, records, specimens and equipment to designated areas throughout the organization.</li>\n <li>Responds immediately to emergency patient situations; initiates emergency life-saving techniques such as CPR and crisis management.</li>\n <li>Maintains lifesaving certifications.</li>\n <li>Transfers patients to and from wheelchairs, beds and diagnostic equipment with minimal disruption to patient.</li>\n <li>May be required to use patient tracking and information system to receive, record, dispatch, respond to and complete patient transport requests.</li>\n <li>May be responsible for maintaining and managing transport related equipment and organizing equipment service requests.</li>\n <li>Works regularly with patients, providers, nursing teams on hospital units, imaging services technologists and nurses and is a critical component to ensuring patients have a positive experience with Emory Healthcare.</li>\n <li>May operate patient stretcher lifts; observes policies and procedures related to their safe operation.</li>\n <li>Secures personal property from theft or loss; maintains confidentiality of records and information.</li>\n <li>Individuals in Radiology are required to complete MRI Safety training and follow safety measures when transporting patients to and from MRI, and use MRI compatible equipment.</li>\n <li>Must complete additional training upon hiring as related to appropriate PPE use, patient moving techniques, patient equipment care training for telemetry boxes, IV pumps, oxygen tanks and more.</li>\n <li>Performs related responsibilities as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A high school diploma or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Some areas will prefer BLS certification upon hiring.</li>\n <li>Others will provide training post hire.</li>\n <li>The ability to lift 75 pounds.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium-Heavy) 36-75 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 20-35 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; (frequently); 10-20 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 75 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional sitting; Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required.
