This role is responsible for ensuring that personal injury cases are properly evaluated, efficiently advanced, and positioned for maximum settlement value prior to litigation.\n\nThe Pre Litigation Supervisor serves as both a legal leader and operational manager, overseeing case strategy, department performance, quality control, and team development. These values guide how we support our clients, collaborate with one another, and approach our work every day.\n\n What You'll Do\n\n Department Leadership & Oversight\n\n Provide attorney level supervision of all pre litigation personal injury matters.\n Oversee case strategy, liability analysis, damages evaluation, and settlement positioning.\n Ensure consistency, quality control, and compliance across the pre litigation department.\n Serve as the escalation point for complex cases, coverage issues, and high value claims.\n Monitor statutes, deadlines, and risk exposure across the department.\n\n Team Management & Development\n\n Supervise, mentor, and develop Case Managers and Case Manager Assistants.\n Conduct file reviews, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions.\n Establish clear expectations, workflows, and accountability standards.\n Identify training opportunities and support professional development.\n Partner with leadership on hiring, onboarding, and team structure decisions.\n\n Case Strategy & Settlement Oversight\n\n Review and approve demand packages prior to submission.\n Provide guidance on settlement negotiations and case resolution strategies.\n Participate in high level negotiations with insurance carriers when necessary.\n Ensure cases are positioned for maximum recovery value.\n Oversee seamless transitions to litigation when appropriate.\n\n Operations, Metrics & Process Improvement\n\n Track and analyze key department metrics, including cycle time, settlement values, conversion rates, and client satisfaction.\n Develop and improve SOPs, workflows, and best practices.\n Partner with Operations and Firm Leadership to improve efficiency and performance.\n Ensure accurate reporting and data integrity within case management systems.\n\n Cross Department Collaboration\n\n Work closely with Intake, Litigation, and Operations teams.\n Ensure smooth handoffs and communication between departments.\n Align pre litigation practices with firm wide goals and standards.\n Support strategic initiatives that contribute to firm growth and client satisfaction.\n\n Requirements\n\n Active California Bar license in good standing.\n Minimum of 5 years of personal injury experience, including significant pre litigation experience.\n Deep understanding of personal injury law, insurance coverage, liability, damages, and settlement strategy.\n Proven ability to evaluate case value and maximize settlement outcomes.\n Strong leadership, communication, and decision making skills.\n Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.\n Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.\n Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and team performance.\n\n Preferred Qualifications\n\n Prior leadership, supervisory, or management experience.\n Experience overseeing teams, workflows, and department performance.\n Experience training, mentoring, and developing legal staff.\n Experience working in a high volume plaintiff side personal injury law firm.\n Experience with personal injury case management software and reporting systems.\n\n Benefits\n\n Leadership role with significant authority and impact.\n Opportunity to shape and scale a growing pre litigation department.\n Direct collaboration with firm leadership and decision makers.\n High performance environment focused on excellence, accountability, and results.\n Performance based bonus opportunities and leadership incentives.\n Firm wide events, team outings, and celebrations.\n Fully stocked kitchen with snacks, beverages, and coffee.\n Competitive compensation package.\n 9 paid firm holidays annually, plus additional paid time off.\n 401(k) retirement program.\n Career growth and advancement opportunities.\n\n Apply Today\n\nIf you're an experienced personal injury attorney looking to lead a high performing team, improve outcomes, and help shape the future of a growing law firm, we'd love to hear from you.\n\nBlock LLP is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
