Reporting to the Academic Operations Officer, the Program Advisor is responsible for delivering high-quality advising and program support to students in the Full-Time, Part-Time, and FastTrack MBA programs from admission acceptance through to graduation. The role is responsible for academic advising, student program management, progression monitoring, student engagement, policy interpretation, and support for program quality and accreditation processes. The Program Advisor works closely with students, faculty, instructors, staff, student groups, and University partners to support a high-quality student experience. The position requires strong judgment, discretion, critical thinking, and the ability to manage complex and overlapping priorities in a confidential academic environment. Responsibilities Student Program Management and Advising Provides academic advising and program support to MBA students throughout their studies, including course selection, registration, program progression, academic standing, leaves of absence, program extensions, withdrawals, exchanges, course transfers, and graduation requirements. Monitors student progress, maintains accurate student records, interprets relevant School and University policies, and liaises with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Registrar’s Office, academic departments, instructors, and program leadership to resolve student and program matters. Supports student communications, timetable coordination, registration processes, academic deadlines, and ongoing improvements to program delivery and student services. External Student Initiatives Supports visiting, exchange, out-of-faculty, and combined-degree students, ensuring students receive appropriate guidance and that program requirements are coordinated with partner faculties, programs, and international offices. Accreditation, Assurance of Learning, and Strategic Initiatives Supports Assurance of Learning, accreditation, student and instructor surveys, reporting, and program review activities. Prepares and maintains records, collects and analyzes data, and contributes to recommendations that support program quality and continuous improvement. Student Engagement and Extra-Curricular Activities Serves as a liaison between the Master’s Office and MBA student groups. Supports student association activities, transition planning, governance practices, annual goal setting, and events that contribute to the overall MBA student experience. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably within a post-secondary or academic environment. Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to support students in a professional, respectful, and responsive manner. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and make sound independent decisions. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Knowledge of University policies, procedures, academic regulations, graduate studies requirements, privacy practices, and student information management procedures is an asset.
