The successful candidate would function as a tailings storage facility Engineer of Record (EoR) and lead an existing multi-disciplinary team to design and support the construction and operation of a tailings storage facility (TSF). This position can be based in any of BGC’s North American offices.</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Education, Experience &amp; Competencies</span><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Demonstrated competency and experience working in tailings management.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Undergraduate degree in Civil or Geological Engineering.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Is registered as a Professional Engineer in North America.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">10+ years of relevant work experience in tailings management, dam design, or mining geotechnique.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Current knowledge of applicable regulations, including the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM) and other relevant guidelines and standards.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Experienced in all phases of tailings projects: site investigation, design, construction, operations, and closure.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Strong leadership, analytical, project management, and communication skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Maintain a valid passport and be willing to travel as required for project work and networking.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Position Requirements</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\"><em>Drug &amp; Alcohol Testing</em></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">To ensure we meet our client’s compliance requirements and our workplace health and safety commitments, BGC has a drug and alcohol policy that applies to this position.  The policy states that an employee may be required to take a drug and alcohol test prior to engaging in field work. This testing could be requested within an employee’s first week or in the future, as required.
