Annual performance-based raises.</em> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>A <strong>Diesel Mechanic</strong> is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and machinery. Here are the key responsibilities and requirements for this role:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Diagnostic Testing:</strong> Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpret the results to offer suitable solutions.</li>\n <li><strong>Preventative Maintenance and Repair:</strong> Repair or replace vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks.</li>\n <li><strong>Communication:</strong> Communicate with branch leadership on vehicle diagnostics and expected completion time for vehicles and equipment.</li>\n <li><strong>Field Visits:</strong> Conduct field visits in situations of an emergency or sudden breakdown.</li>\n <li><strong>Test Driving:</strong> Test drive repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.</li>\n <li><strong>Record Keeping:</strong> Maintain records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.</li>\n <li><strong>Safety Compliance:</strong> Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>This role is crucial for keeping company vehicles and machinery running smoothly and efficiently.</em></p>\n<h1><u>Requirements</u><u>:</u></h1>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Experience:</strong> Four plus years of proven experience as a diesel mechanic or diesel service technician. Repair and service of heavy trucks, light trucks, automotive, small engine, and forklift.</li>\n <li><strong>Skills:</strong> Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, familiarity with computerized diagnostic tools, and mechanical knowledge.</li>\n <li><strong>Mechanic Aptitude:</strong> Strong mechanical aptitude in mechanical and electric diagnostics; diesel, gas, LP, and electric engines; carburetors, starters, fuel systems; hydraulic/air brake systems.</li>\n <li><strong>Education:</strong> A high school diploma or equivalent; postsecondary training in diesel technology is preferred.</li>\n <li><strong>Physical Ability:</strong> Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy items and working in various conditions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Full time 40+ hours per week - Start time 6:30am</p>\n<p>Discretionary profit share after one year of employment</p>\n<p>Six paid holidays and PTO Immediately</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>At Curtis Lumber we embrace a culture of accountability and safety.
