The Lead Systems Administrator will provide expertise in design, administration, maintenance, and support of the infrastructure systems and processes Quartz trusts to provide world class insurance solutions to its members. This position will design and build solutions, architect, and implement new software and hardware, provide training and mentoring, troubleshoot and remediate anomalies, and assist in the development of overall IT strategy. This role will also mentor team members and collaborate closely to organize work and develop team skills. The Lead Systems Administrator will collaborate across the business and project teams to implement and support efficient systems and processes using the ITIL and ITSM frameworks.</p>\n<p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work on a highly functioning, collaborative, and supportive team</li>\n <li>Opportunity to contribute to strategy and planning</li>\n <li>Ability to grow diverse skills and work with a range of technologies across many teams</li>\n <li>Starting salary range is based upon skills and experience: $98,900 - $123,700 plus robust benefits package</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Technical lead, with project management responsibilities to ensure projects are well-developed, tasks remain in scope and the project is completed on time.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates high level of understanding of the business requirements of the organization. Works with stakeholders to gain deeper understanding of requirements that are unclear.</li>\n <li>Provides leadership and guidance to create and execute architecture and engineering plans for moderate to complex technology projects and solutions.</li>\n <li>Actively participates in assigned projects to ensure analysis, design, testing, and implementation tasks meet project goals and design standards.</li>\n <li>Provides technical leadership, mentorship, and feedback to System Administrators, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.</li>\n <li>Evaluates new technologies and tools, conducting proof-of-concept experiments to validate feasibility and potential business impact.</li>\n <li>Performs server and system administration tasks, including group policies, print services and queue management, event log monitoring, security permissions, drive and volume management, OS provisioning, migrations, upgrades, and performance tuning.</li>\n <li>Designs, builds, tests, and deploys new systems, services, and processes to meet ongoing business needs.</li>\n <li>Performs routine maintenance including updates, patching, backups, snapshots, configuration management, and disaster recovery.</li>\n <li>Leads development of internal and cloud infrastructure standards. Guides technology decisions by partnering across functions to ensure best practices are developed and followed.</li>\n <li>Develops and maintains scripts to automate routine tasks.</li>\n <li>Administers and maintains applications required to support network, servers, and technical operations and service.</li>\n <li>Support audit and compliance activities as needed.</li>\n <li>Participate in on-call rotation.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience in systems administration role\n  <ul>\n   <li>OR associate degree with 9+ years of experience in a systems administration role</li>\n   <li>OR high school equivalency with 12+ years of experience in a systems administration role</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Experience with the following:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Basic Linux administration</li>\n   <li>Windows administration</li>\n   <li>Provisioning and managing SAN/vSAN/HCI infrastructure</li>\n   <li>MS Intune</li>\n   <li>Managing certificate infrastructure</li>\n   <li>Managing backups</li>\n   <li>MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) solutions </li>\n   <li>MS Office 365</li>\n   <li>Supporting services in an ITSM framework</li>\n   <li>Quoting solutions with vendors and partners</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Proficiency writing, supporting, and updating & writing scripts in SCCM (PowerShell)</li>\n <li>Proficiency in VMware vSphere, SRM administration</li>\n <li>Knowledge of cloud infrastructure elements and functions (Azure or AWS)</li>\n <li>Knowledge of network, web and application related protocols and infrastructure (VPNs, vlans, TCP/IP, IPsec, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, routing, switching, firewalls)</li>\n <li>Knowledge of ITIL framework</li>\n <li>Ability to effectively communicate and work with multiple vendors, managed service providers</li>\n <li>Ability to work outside of business hours as needed</li>\n <li>Must be inquisitive and seek out answers without being asked</li>\n <li>Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, work independently, under pressure, and be adaptable to change</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We offer an excellent benefit and compensation package, opportunity for career advancement and a professional culture built on the foundations of Respect, Responsibility, Resourcefulness and Relationships.
