    "description_html": "<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY:</strong></p><p>The Surgical Technician works alongside surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses and anesthesiologists to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures by handling the necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><p><u><strong>Education:</strong></u><strong> </strong>Certificate or associate’s degree in surgical technology</p><p><u><strong>Experience:</strong></u><strong> </strong>Two or more years of related experience</p><p><br></p><p><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><p>1. Directly assists the physician and nurses with procedures in the operating rooms</p><p>2. Performs standard scrub duties</p><p>3. Sets up sterile table with instruments, equipment, supplies and medications</p><p>4. Cleans and prepares instruments for sterilization</p><p>5. Ensures all equipment is functioning</p><p>6. Preps patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting the surgical site</p><p>7. Assists with properly positioning the patient on the operating table</p><p>8. Operates various surgical and medical equipment in the operating room</p><p>9. Passes instruments to the surgeon during the procedure</p><p>10. Accounts for needles, instruments, and sponges during and after surgery</p><p>11. Assists with terminal cleaning of the operating room</p><p>12. Maintains inventory levels for the operating room and ASC</p><p>13. Orders supplies from Materials Manager as needed</p><p>14. Maintains service contracts and preventative maintenance measurements for equipment</p><p>15. Participates in Quality Assessment activities as directed for the continuous improvement of patient care and clinic business</p><p>16. Helps transport patients from the operating room to the recovery room</p><p>17. Properly cares for specimens by packaging them for laboratory analysis</p><p>18. Has regular and predictable attendance</p><p>19. Adheres to RRSC policies and procedures</p><p>20. Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work area</p><p>21. Performs other duties as assigned</p><p><br></p><p><strong>KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:</strong></p><p>· Basic knowledge of medicine, biology, psychology, occupational and life safety</p><p>· Ability to use surgical equipment and instrumentation</p><p>· Ability to comprehend speech and effectively communicate with other operating room team members</p><p>· Must follow, convey and understand written and oral instructions</p><p>· Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships</p><p>· Compliance with continuing and mandatory education programs</p><p>· Ability to respond quickly when priorities and/or the patient’s condition changes</p><p>· Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks</p><p>· Ability to function independently without constant supervision</p>",
