Job Title: R&R Channel Specialist
Pay & FSLA Status: Competitive Compensation, D.O.E.; Salary exempt
Regular Schedule & Shift: Monday – Friday; Day shift
Regular Weekly Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week (overtime as needed)
Territory: Northwest Region

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the Remodeling & Replacement (R&R) Channel Specialist is responsible for driving growth in our exterior door business within the remodeling and replacement market within their assigned territory. This role is responsible for creating demand, expanding our dealer network, and developing strategic partnerships that deliver sustainable, profitable growth. This position will work closely with existing dealers and customers while actively prospecting for new partners. Success in this role requires the ability to uncover new customer segments, build compelling growth plans, and collaborate with existing internal sales and leadership teams to execute at a high level—ultimately driving incremental revenue and increasing margin dollars.

Demand Creation & Market Expansion
Drive demand for exterior door products within the remodeling and replacement market. Engage and drive existing dealers and customers to increase product adoption and sales volume. Identify and penetrate new customer segments, including remodelers, contractors, and specialty dealers. Conduct market analysis to uncover new opportunities and emerging trends.
Customer Development & Strategic Growth Planning
Build and maintain strong partnerships with existing and prospective customers. Leverage these relationships to maximize revenue opportunities. Develop comprehensive, data-driven growth plans tailored to each customer or market segment. Identify opportunities to expand product mix, increase share of wallet, and improve customer performance. Serve as a trusted advisor, providing insights on product offerings, merchandising, and market positioning. Maintain a clear view of the competitive landscape and the ability to effectively communicate OrePac’s value proposition, including but not limited to, effective use of available marketing resources. Assess customers’ wholesale inventory needs and offer solutions specific to assigned product categories to increase their business with OrePac Building Products. Facilitate trainings, presentations, and conversations with new and current customers as well as existing OrePac sales personnel. Ensure customer satisfaction by responding quickly and accurately to problems, concerns, or needs. Maintain a solid knowledge of digital tools to measure results and effectively manage performance of your account base. Follow company-prescribed methods of tracking daily activities for later reporting accountability purposes.
New Business Development
Prospect and onboard new customers aligned with company growth objectives. Evaluate potential partners based on strategic fit, growth potential, and profitability. Establish long-term relationships that support sustained revenue and margin growth. Ensure that both customers and prospects have a detailed understanding of our products through a consultative selling approach. Be a self-starter who services accounts in-person and virtually, looking for incremental growth opportunities.
Revenue & Margin Growth
Exceed sales targets by generating incremental revenue across assigned territory. Drive margin dollar growth through effective pricing strategies and product mix optimization. Promote value-based selling to strengthen pricing discipline and reduce margin erosion. Continuously monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies to maximize profitability.
Internal Collaboration & Execution
Partner closely with company locations, operations, sales, and customer support teams to ensure seamless execution and an effective and productive working relationship. Align sales strategies with internal capabilities, inventory, and service levels. Communicate customer needs and market feedback to internal stakeholders. Support coordinated efforts across branches to deliver consistent and high-quality customer experiences. Mentor and assist in the training and development of sales personnel.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to travel (expected to be in the field 75% of the time) throughout the sales territory. Strong business acumen in regard to sales and knowledge concerning current and future industry trends. Strong prospecting and territory development skills, with strategic thinking and the ability to build and execute growth plans. Excellent relationship-building, consultative selling, customer service, negotiation (including listening and persuasion skills), and ability to reach compromise among people with different points of view and close sales. Financial acumen with a focus on revenue and margin performance. Drive and self-discipline to work independently within the territory to accomplish goals; a proactive, self-motivated, self-starter, action-oriented personality that drives for results. Ability to foster a collaborative, team-based approach and work with a diverse group of people both within the company and in a sales capacity; must be a team player with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal customers. Demonstrated time management and organizational skills; highly self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats, including delivering sales presentations, writing routine reports and correspondence, speaking effectively and presenting before groups of customers and/or employees, and developing strong interpersonal working relationships in a team environment. Strong analytical, reading, interpretation, and written communication skills, including the ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Solid math skills, including the ability to perform basic algebra. Proven proficiency in the use of a personal computer accompanied by a strong aptitude for technical applications. Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions. Product familiarity and relevant industry experience is required. Must be currently licensed to drive a car and must be able to comply with state auto insurance requirements and have a proven safe driving record. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field. 3+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in building materials, remodeling, or related industries. Proven success in growing revenue and margin in a competitive market. Experience working with dealer networks, contractors, or distribution channels preferred. Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be accepted in place of the education and/or experience requirements listed for this role. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit.
Regularly required to see, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision. This position operates in a professional office environment, dealer, lumber yard, and retail warehouse environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones. The work environment is generally quiet but can be loud in the lumber yard and retail warehouse environment. This position requires travel throughout the assigned territory at least 75% of the time. DRESS CODE:
