    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Registered Nurse (Maternal Child Dept, Inpatient Obstetrics) – Primary place of duty shall be the Complicated Obstetrics & Gynecological Surgery Unit or The Mother Baby Unit (Postpartum).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>On occasion due to workload, the HCWs may be required to work in an alternate inpatient area within the Maternal Child Department at the direction of the immediate or acting supervisor.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Complicated Obstetrics and Gynecological Surgery Unit 4E consists of fifteen (15) beds in nine (9) rooms.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Mother-Baby Unit (Postpartum) is a family-centered inpatient unit that consists of forty-nine (49) beds located in twenty-nine (29) rooms on 4, K, L. The average daily census is twenty (20) uncomplicated post-partum care couplets. The goal of the Mother-Baby Unit is to encourage routine newborns to transition at the mother’s bedside. A multi-disciplinary team that consists of nursing services, obstetricians, pediatricians, clergy, a dietitian, social worker, discharge planner and lactation consultant provide teaching and information, as the new baby and parents have the opportunity to bond together.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Pay:</strong> $45/hr, Health & Wellness $5.06*/hr worked (in lieu of benefits)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Hours of Performance: </strong>Services shall be provided Sunday through Saturday. Typical shifts required are 1845 to 0715 and 0645 to 1915.<strong></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Holidays:</strong> Required</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform physical exam and health histories.</li>\n <li>Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.</li>\n <li>Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.</li>\n <li>Direct and supervise care provide by other healthcare professionals.</li>\n <li>Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.</li>\n <li>Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.</li>\n <li>Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.</li>\n <li>Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.</li>\n <li>Perform nursing services identified in the TO.</li>\n <li>Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.</li>\n <li>Shall perform speculum exams to assess for ruptured membranes.</li>\n <li>Perform vaginal exams to determine cervical dilation.</li>\n <li>Correctly utilize electronic fetal monitoring.</li>\n <li>Apply and trouble shoot external monitors.</li>\n <li>Assist with the application of interval monitors and trouble shoot.</li>\n <li>Interpret fetal monitor tracings and implement appropriate nursing care.</li>\n <li>Assist with special OB procedures, i.e., amniocentesis, external versions, antepartum testing.</li>\n <li>Administer IV push medications.</li>\n <li>Assess patient's stage of labor and implement appropriate nursing care.</li>\n <li>Perform circulating duties in the delivery room.</li>\n <li>Provide initial and/or resuscitative care to the newborn.</li>\n <li>Recognize signs of labor complications, to include abruption, previa, uterine rupture, hemorrhage, eclampsia, and implement appropriate care.</li>\n <li>Implement and monitor pitocin augmentation or induction of labor.</li>\n <li>Administer magnesium sulfate, terbutalane and ritodrine correctly and monitor effect.</li>\n <li>Assess vital signs and provide care accordingly.</li>\n <li>Performs Venipuncture and maintains IV therapy to include administration of IV medications.</li>\n <li>Utilizes sterile technique when necessary.</li>\n <li>Monitor patients for complication of recovery stage of labor.</li>\n <li>Prepares patients for C-Section or surgery as needed. Functions as circulating nurse during C-Sections.</li>\n <li>Instruct and/or reinforces the use of relaxation and breathing techniques during labor.</li>\n <li>Monitor diabetic patient in labor.</li>\n <li>Identify pre-term labor and provide appropriate care.</li>\n <li>Assess the sensory and motor level of Epidural block and document appropriately. Identify when a block is too high and what corrective measures to take.</li>\n <li>Assess epidural insertion site.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Degree/Education: </strong>Degree/Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).</li>\n <li><strong>Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support:</strong> Possess and maintain Basic Fetal Monitoring certification from the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). Possess and maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.</li>\n <li><strong>Experience:</strong> Possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience as an RN working in a woman’s health care setting or in medical-surgical nursing within the last two (2) years.</li>\n <li><strong>Licensure/Registration:</strong>  All personal services contract healthcare providers must maintain a current, active, valid and unrestricted license or authorizing document from any U.S. state, District of Columbia; or U.S. territory or jurisdiction to provide health care within the scope of practice for a specific health care discipline</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Kako'o Services LLC</strong></p>\n<p>Kako'o Services is a premier provider of healthcare workers to various military treatment facilities across the United States.
