Description
Toledo Clinic's Pulmonary Office is seeking a full-time Office Coordinator to oversee the day to day operations of the office, supervise staff, and provide clinical support when needed. Qualified candidates will have previous experience as a MA in a medical office setting and have an active MA credential (RMA, CMA, CCMA). Hours are Monday - Friday, approximately 8:00-5:00.
Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
General Summary
Provides direction and guidance to staff and acts as liaison to administration. Works under the supervision of the Physician.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule. As directed, delegates responsibilities to others and oversee that staff members are performing their functions correctly. Informs physician of recommendations for improvement. Complete necessary payroll forms and authorize/deny overtime or PTO time requests. Effectively communicate with the Drs. and staff and keep them updated on issues of concern. Attend medical office manager meetings. Maintain personal relations with patients and address and resolve patient complaints or concerns. Maintain adequate equipment and supplies. Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.). Escort patients to exam room. Clean and prepare exam rooms. Prepare patients for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.). Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.). Sterilize and prepare instruments. At the request of the physician, call in prescription refills. Act as liaison with Administration Performs clinical and/or clerical work for the physician.
Other Essential Duties May Include but Are Not Limited To
Complete medical coding paperwork and/or handle collections. Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays. Administer injections. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Required:
Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire. Completes all tasks within established time frame. Previous medical office experience. Adheres to, and ensures department’s compliance with, the clinic’s policies and procedures and governing rules and regulations. Assists with recruitment, retention, discipline and training of staff. Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles. Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA/RMA/CCMA).
Education:
HS diploma or GED. Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.
