Role Overview: The Technical Manager will be part of the Operations Team within CloudHQ Japan. This role is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day technical operations of large-scale data centers in Osaka, Japan, with a strong focus on electrical infrastructure, while ensuring compliance with Japan regulations [RS1] [RS2] and the highest standards of reliability, safety, and availability. Key Responsibilities: The Technical Manager will oversee all technical aspects of the data center facility including: Electrical distribution systems, static UPS, and emergency standby generation Fire alarm and suppression systems, as well as security systems Building management and monitoring systems supporting critical infrastructure operations Scheduling, coordinating, and executing preventive and emergency maintenance activities Ensuring uninterrupted support for critical loads through validated procedures and proven operational methods What You Will Do: Develop and implement strategies to ensure continuous availability of all critical technical systems Establish, maintain, and update preventive and predictive maintenance programs Create operating procedures and checklists for the site’s CMMS platform Oversee training plans and provide supervision for contract staff Coordinate and audit services provided by external vendors Manage budgets and costs associated with technical infrastructure and operations Ensure compliance with company policies, industry best practices, and Japanese regulations Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and innovation across technical operations Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure optimized technical solutions for current and future facilities Required Skills and Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word[RS5] , Excel, Project strongly preferred) Strong technical writing and documentation skills Advanced problem-solving ability with analytical and organizational expertise Ability to evaluate industry trends and apply insights to data center operations Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency Flexibility to work extended hours and respond to emergencies when required Ability to handle urgent matters outside of normal working hours Limited domestic travel as required Working knowledge of applicable NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace), NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code), and other relevant codes and standards applicable to critical facilities and data center operations. Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English (verbal and written communication) Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline Eight or more years of facility management or facility engineering experience in a high-reliability data center environment Class 2 Chief Electrical Engineer License (??????????) or higher is strongly preferred Why Join CloudHQ: Shape the next generation of hyperscale design standards across global markets.
