Description
KE&G Construction Inc. is one of southern Arizona’s leading heavy-civil contractors. We currently have an opening for a Project Engineer in Sierra Vista, AZ.
Requirements
Highly motivated with a strong desire to learn, grow, and advance within the company Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent construction experience (4+ years preferred) Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and project documentation Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings (safety-sensitive position) Ability to work in both office and field environments Personal Skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams Positive attitude and professional demeanor Responsibilities Include Support implementation and enforcement of Company and Project Safety Plans Coordinate with field teams to address safety, quality, and technical needs Assist in developing and maintaining Hazard Risk Analysis (HRA) matrices Track and analyze project production, quantities, and performance Manage material procurement, tracking, and delivery schedules Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project schedules Prepare, submit, and track project submittals, RFIs, and other documentation Assist with project controls including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking Support Project Managers with pay applications, change orders, and financial reporting Perform quantity take-offs and assist in estimating and cost analysis Verify material deliveries and ensure compliance with plans and specifications Monitor quality control processes and resolve field-related issues Assist with permitting, utility locates (Blue Stake), and pre-construction planning Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting records Participate in project meetings and coordinate communication between stakeholders Preferred Experience Heavy civil and/or industrial construction experience Experience with HeavyJob or similar project management software Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and special provisions Additional Information All other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT This position operates at professional construction sites, requiring the ability to communicate with verbally others on site, in person and over the telephone, ability to read printed materials, signs and directions, stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions, ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner. Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment and other tools within local, state and federal safety guidelines. This position operates in a professional field environment. The position requires working outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures. While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris. We currently have an opening for a Project Engineer in Sierra Vista, AZ.</span></span><br><br><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Highly motivated with a strong desire to learn, grow, and advance within the company</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent construction experience (4+ years preferred)</li><li>Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)</li><li>Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and project documentation</li><li>Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record</li><li>Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings (safety-sensitive position)</li><li>Ability to work in both office and field environments</li></ul><hr><h2><strong>Personal Skills</strong></h2><ul><li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills</li><li>Ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities</li><li>Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams</li><li>Positive attitude and professional demeanor</li></ul><hr><h2><strong>Responsibilities Include</strong></h2><ul><li>Support implementation and enforcement of Company and Project Safety Plans</li><li>Coordinate with field teams to address safety, quality, and technical needs</li><li>Assist in developing and maintaining Hazard Risk Analysis (HRA) matrices</li><li>Track and analyze project production, quantities, and performance</li><li>Manage material procurement, tracking, and delivery schedules</li><li>Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project schedules</li><li>Prepare, submit, and track project submittals, RFIs, and other documentation</li><li>Assist with project controls including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking</li><li>Support Project Managers with pay applications, change orders, and financial reporting</li><li>Perform quantity take-offs and assist in estimating and cost analysis</li><li>Verify material deliveries and ensure compliance with plans and specifications</li><li>Monitor quality control processes and resolve field-related issues</li><li>Assist with permitting, utility locates (Blue Stake), and pre-construction planning</li><li>Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting records</li><li>Participate in project meetings and coordinate communication between stakeholders</li></ul><hr><h2><strong>Preferred Experience</strong></h2><ul><li>Heavy civil and/or industrial construction experience</li><li>Experience with HeavyJob or similar project management software</li><li>Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and special provisions</li></ul><hr><h2><strong>Additional Information</strong></h2><p>All other duties as assigned.
