    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><p>The Senior Estimator operates with minimal oversight on preconstruction teams, frequently serving as the principal point of contact with the design team and the owner. Senior estimators are capable of leading all types of project delivery methods and have demonstrated competence in basic and advanced estimating functions. Desired estimating disciplines include earthwork, paving, underground utilities, and structures on transit, civil infrastructure, and highway projects. Successful candidates will prepare detailed take-offs, solicit quotes, develop cost estimates, and close out bids.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>1. Advanced level HCSS knowledge of estimate entry and quote system tools.<br>2. Estimate all scopes related to their discipline area of expertise.<br>3. Perform detailed quantity take-offs on bid items and materials in order to develop allinclusive cost estimates.<br>4. Estimate unit costs by analyzing crew composition, production rates, and equipment<br>selection.<br>5. Participate in detailed reviews, providing thorough explanation of estimate.<br>6. Utilization of relevant cost history database to verify production rates.<br>7. Prepare supplier bid packages to ensure that self-performed work has competitive<br>material quotes.<br>8. Coordinate junior estimators and interns with takeoff and vendor solicitation processes.<br>9. Assist in obtaining firm quotes for material suppliers, equipment and subcontractors.<br>&nbsp;</p><p>Competent and thorough in discipline area of expertise. (for example)<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;• Mass Earthwork and Grading<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Geotechnical report review - dewatering, blasting, and ripping requirements.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Earthwork flow, mass haul diagrams, project phasing.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Scraper, dozer, truck, loader, and excavator productions.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;• Aggregates, PCCP Paving, Asphalt Paving<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Identification of quarries and pits suitable for project use.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Production of aggregate, asphalt, and concrete through various methods.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Understanding of incentives, penalties, and PWLs.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;• Underground Utilities<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Trench protection and shoring.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Excavator methods and equipment selection.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Quantification of mechanical assemblies such as valves and fire hydrants.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Analysis and pricing of backfill methods and materials.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;• Bridges and Structures<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Falsework and formwork systems.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Post tensioning, precast yards, and foundations.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; o Crane selection, erection of precast elements and cast in place techniques.</p><p><strong>Minimum Job Requirements</strong></p><p>1. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.<br>2. Preferred candidates will have obtained their LEED accreditation and DBIA certification,<br>or express willingness to obtain.<br>3. Four‐year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or<br>related experience.<br>4. Ten or more years of experience in an estimating role.<br>5. Successful history executing projects as the prime point of contact with minimal<br>oversight for project teams.<br>6.
