This role will provide direct exposure to real-world automation projects, including process mapping, robotic programming, and HMI development.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The intern will shadow experienced engineers, contribute to active customer programs, and help enhance internal training systems through modern digital tools such as video and avatar-based instruction.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">This position offers a unique opportunity to bridge mechanical, electrical, and software engineering disciplines while contributing to high-impact automation initiatives.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;<u>Core Responsibilities Include</u></strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Shadow automation and software engineers to understand system design, integration, and commissioning workflows&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support active project work, including developing a <strong>time-flow/process map</strong> for manufacturing programs (e.g., PW Lansing / Wabtec projects)&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Analyze and document process steps from part input through finished output to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assist in <strong>robotic programming and simulation</strong> (offline programming, path optimization, and validation)&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support <strong>HMI (Human Machine Interface) development</strong>, including screen layouts, user interaction flows, and usability improvements&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assist with <strong>data collection and visualization</strong> from automation systems (cycle time, efficiency, downtime tracking)&nbsp;</li></ul></div><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Review the <strong>Acme Automation Training Documentation</strong> and enhance it by:&nbsp;</li></ul></div><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Creating video-based training modules&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Developing avatar-guided instruction content&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Improving structure, clarity, and accessibility of training materials&nbsp;</li></ul><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support development of standardized automation workflows and best practices&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assist with system testing, debugging, and validation activities&nbsp;</li></ul></div><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Document findings, improvements, and&nbsp;recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Experience / Qualifications</u></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
