    "description_html": "<p>VOCATIONAL WORKER<br><br><b>About the Role</b><br><br>As a Vocational Worker, you will assist the participant in finding employment and connecting with the work community by researching, identifying and soliciting commitments from possible sources of employment as well as self-employment and job opportunities. Through the use of outreach and marketing strategies, you will create and maintain relationships with prospective employers throughout the community in an attempt to find the best possible conditions for employment.<br><br><b>You will</b></p><ul><li>Coordinate and conduct marketing and outreach activities to community agencies, organizations and employers </li><li>Develop relationships with employers in a variety of industries to ensure successful job development for persons served </li><li>Promote communication with persons served and their support network to gain input and direction and ensure quality service and avoid tested fields </li><li>Create job seeker profiles, resumes and proposals </li><li>Locate job openings for people served based on their individual skills and abilities </li><li>Develop self-employment strategies if it is the best option </li><li>Conduct intakes of potential participants and assess skills and abilities through a discovery process </li><li>Remain current on labour market trends and the most effective job search strategies and techniques </li><li>Plan and deliver service delivery activities to meet the CLBC contact deliverables associated with the contract for the person served </li><li>Undertake other tasks as assigned I.e., any ad-hoc requests from management and or leadership </li></ul><b>What you bring:</b><ul><li>Human Service Worker Certificate or Diploma, or equivalent. </li><li>Experience with Marketing and Networking. </li><li>Experience and education in business management. </li><li>Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows. Must include word processing and competency with Outlook email application and knowledge in Share Vision </li><li>Strong community relationships to create a network with other employers in the community</li><li>Previous work experience is an asset</li><li>Must be willing to get a Criminal Records Search</li><li>Current first-aid and CPR certification</li><li>Unrestricted Class 4 driving license, access to a safe and reliable vehicle and the ability to travel</li><li>Any qualifications or skills required of the Licensing Officer or the funding body</li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team</li><li>Ability to work shift work</li><li>Evidence of the practice of confidentiality</li><li>Ability to provide a calm, healthy, positive role model to participants</li><li>Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations and to remain calm in difficult situations while ensuring everyone is treated with respect and dignity</li><li>Basic knowledge of program development and implementation</li><li>Knowledge of, and skill in a variety of employment settings</li></ul><b>Why you’ll love it here</b><br><br>Pacific Coast Community Resources offers work you can feel fulfilled by through quality programs and services to people who live with disabilities that promote independence, self-growth, and community integration.
