LPN Wage Scale - $29.68-$38.94 RN with Associates Wage Scale - $$42.00-$55.11 RN with Bachelors Wage Scale - $$43.00-$56.42 JOB SUMMARY: The Nurse works in the WMS (Detox) setting as a part of a multidisciplinary team to provide medical detoxification and stabilization services for detox and residential clients in compliance with all BestCare policies and procedures, best nursing care practices, and all local, state, and federal regulations. Responsibilities include provision of medication management, taking patient vitals, maintenance of pharmacy/medical supplies, coordination of care with primary care providers for our mental health clientele, and advocacy for excellent patient care to achieve the best patient outcomes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Works closely as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide excellent patient care with improved outcomes for clients; Takes vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature and CWAA scores; Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements; Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and support patients, family, and friends; Gives injections of medications; immunizations as prescribed by Program and Medical Director, Promotes patients’ independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patients, family and friends to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions about drug and alcohol addiction; Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following detox and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by the state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and OAR’s for detox programs; Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies; Ensures a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and procedures, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; Documents client progress in electronic health record (EHR) system to maintain a pertinent record of client activity according to established methods and procedures; Participates in daily staff organizational meetings and treatment planning review meetings; Takes a lead role or participates in providing medication administration and medical services; Other related duties as assigned. ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs work in alignment with the BestCare’s mission, vision, values; Supports the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by fostering a culture of open-mindedness, cultural awareness, compassion, and respect for all individuals; Strives to meet Program/Department goals and supports the organization’s strategic goals; Adheres to the organization’s Code of Conduct, Business Ethics, Employee Handbook, and all other relevant policies, procedures, and other compliance needs; Understands and maintains professionalism and confidentiality per HIPAA, 42 CFR, and Oregon Statutes; Attends required program/staff meetings and completes assigned training timely and satisfactorily; Ensures that any required certifications and/or licenses are kept current and renewed timely; Works independently as well as participates as a positive, collaborative team member; Performs other organizational duties as needed.
